Different wheels from what we've seen so far, unless they used the older Forester to hide under the cover?

Also, power rear gate option, PZEV and 32mpg mentioned.

This is NOT old news. Hard confirmation of powered rear lift gate and 32 mph highway fuel economy for the US model is NEW news.

And PZEV is NOT standard on everything N/A from Japan since May (hint: BRZ).

Would still like to know what x-mode does. Don't understand how it's different from the awd system it already has

Touche......

I had regular gas burning engines in mind. Brain just didn't click on that as I was responding.
I don't typically count the BRZ since I don't really see it as a FULL model.

Presumably they're the same as the tilting ones in the Impreza, right?

If there are other photos could you link them? I've read every page of this thread and don't see them, unless you are talking about the spy shots of mules? I don't see any production shots with these new wheels??

2014 looks different, gets better MPG and has more power (XT)... why wouldn't you want to upgrade?

Actually, since we bought it I have had issues with tranny. And the power is not really there. I regret not getting an XT so this would be exactly what I was looking for to begin with especially with the new tranny!

I'll be eyeballing a high trim level 2.5, myself.

If you need a new car sure. But not like you are getting seating for 8. Or getting 50 mpg. If you current car is still fairly new, reliable and does everything you need it to do, why take a financial hit and purchase a brand new car? If your current car is old, needs a lot of service or you need more power to tow a trailer sure I can see that. The slight increase in mpg won't offset cost of buying a brand new car and getting rid of a perfectly running car.

While you are 100% correct...

No one on this website makes financially smart decisions. We drive expensive cars that require premium fuel and modify them. Everything we discuss is throwing away money at depreciating assets.

You live once, drive the car you want.

I really hope it's a tilting headrest I see in the picture. Because of the new regulations, headrests in most of new cars push my head forward.

I also hope that the seats are going to be a little more supportive/firmer like the seats in outback or legacy.

Subaru hasn't confirmed EyeSight for the USDM subaru Forester but that's the upgrade some people are looking at. The power rear lift gate, CVT, better gas mileage, new look, refined interior, refined (not such a big upgrade in my opinion) exterior are all attractive as well. At least subaruforester.com agrees. The power rear lift gate and EyeSight tack on more to the MSRP of course but now it competes with some luxury CUV's just based on that. Of course, being it's a Subaru you can't really call it an Audi or Mercedes because it doesn't break down as much.

Yes, that also means more things to break and to repair in the new generation. The payoff for the gas mileage isn't what a lot of people look for when they trade up between a year or two. There are a lot of people who traded in their 2012 Subaru Outback for a 2013 Subaru Outback since the 2013 handles a LOT better. But in the long run I can see the MPG paying off on the 2014 Subaru Forester if you plan to keep the car a lot longer than the average person does.

Some people actually want the 2014 because of the chrome though. I just want it for the CVT, more power, the power rear liftgate, and EyeSight.

LOL, especially the people who go faster on the onramp than on the actual highway. I floor it each time I can when entering a highway just because I can.

You mean the launchpad? Onramps and toll booths were designed for us to wring-out the gears!

FYI, the images of the 2014 show me the same thing I see in my 2012 and on the 2013s as far as cargo area. The wheel wells are located in the same position relevant to the rear seats on both my 2012 and the 2014 from what I can see.

When I compare the sizes to cars101.com, assuming the #s are mm, it seems to be smaller than the MY13?
