My '04 STi has been my only car since the very end of May 2003. One of the first sold in America.

I have found it very comfortable on long drives after I installed a stereo, 10 disk CD changer. and powered sub woofer. The first STi's didn't have a radio, or speakers after driving with only road noise for 3 months to other Western destinations more than 1,000 miles away. I took my time and am still happy with my choices way back then.

I did have to replace the Kenwood's face plate last year for $20. e-bay does have some good deals as a new head unit that would NOT connect to my CD player would have been $500-1,100.

It turned out that the STi and my bladder have the same capacity and about the same time to fill and empty each.

Now I just put put to the store once a week and the seats are still very relaxing. I take the long way home to warm things up...

Great to hear as well! I purchased my stock 2004 STI from a family friend who had ordered it, likely one of the first in Missouri since he had to go through Enterprise to get the car delivered. He kept all the original paper work and Car and Driver magazine when it was first featured. He too had to put in radio, the floor mats are from the WRX. Its been my daily driver for 6 years now. Got it at 18k miles and just hit 70k on it. Been on plenty of long road trips and the tank size is also in complete sync with my bladder too. I have no plans to modify other than the Subaru SPT exhaust that I put on.

Yep. I have WRX floor mats too an just over 70,000 miles, and on long trips when the STi needs fuel I need to empty my tank.

Just bought an '00 Impreza Outback 5MT to replace my '97 Civic CX. The intent is to be a daily but it's been on jack stands since I bought it tackling a few issues.

I've been daily driving my 06 wrx with 227K miles recently. All is good except for the crappy gas mileage and the gas prices I'm paying. lol.

Technically, yes? I've been working from home since COVID shut down our office back in March of 2020. I was commuting in my '10 Impreza. I think I've put maybe 5000 miles on it since then.

My wife does commute, although 15 minutes each way in our '12 outback though, and that is our main family hauler.

It is! Iím to the point where I need to decide if I want to keep driving it and putting an insane amount of miles on it or trade it in. Thinking of keeping it.

Itís a 2015 wrx premium manual. Iíve had it for about two years now.

Question - after a year or so I noticed my hvac system started making a noise and it didnít matter if my A/C or heat were on or not. Makes more noise when driving at higher speeds. Itís like a high pitched digital noise. Video below. Would love to hear what people think it could be.

I've owned 7 Subaru's; 3 WRX STIs, 2 WRX's, 1 Legacy GT and 1 BRZ. I used to daily them all. My 04 STI had around 400whp. That was my daily/autocross/random drag-strip fun car for around 2 years. No issues.

I daily drove my 07 STi bought new 20k miles a year
I daily drove my FBO flex fuel 2011 STi bought new for a few years before getting a daily driver.
I bought my 2020 STi when I still had an 18 Camry Hybrid daily driver but camry gone so back to daily driving the 20. I don't go very far. Just to train station a couple of days a week a few miles away. Less than 5k miles on my car.

These cars are really fun and engaging with 6spd, hydraulic steering, etc. but for daily driving lots of miles, I would probably choose something more comfortable.

My subaru has always been my commuter/daily driver, but haven't put many miles on it since my commute is only around 12 miles a day. 2011 with only ~67k miles.

I have been driving Subaru Impreza STI MY11 for several years and must say that the car meets all my demands. Love it very much! I think that my next car will be also a Subaru Impreza

Time for an update! Several months after I posted this I took a new job, and I've been there ever since. Now my commute is 60 miles round trip (about 1/2 of what it was).

In 2015 I bought a '05 MINI Cooper S, and in 2017 I traded the OBW for a '14 WRX hatchback.

Nowadays it's about 50/50 whether I take the WRX or the MINI to work. I really enjoy driving both of them.

I DD my 08 WRX, I have only had it for a couple months. I bought it and made it 250 miles and spun a rod bearing and ringland failure on cyl 4. I swapped in a low mileage engine to get it going again, but plan to build the old engine back better, and possibly do a 6 speed swap in the future as well. I have two Legacy gt's as well.
