I dd my 03 wrx. I really have no complaint dd'n my Subaru. I roughly put 20k a year on it.I think the highest mpg I have ever gotten was 28 on the highway but lately it's been around 22-25 mixed city and highway. It's way more Comfy then my 300zx(z32)

DD OB with CVT.

It's a good driving the speed limit car and hauls all my stuff on the long trips.

But no, it's not really FUN to drive. I need a fun car too.

43,000 miles on my 2012 stg 2 wrx. Had it for a year and 5 months. Comfotable as any car ive driven. If gas milage was an issue i still would have bpught it and driven it the same. In comparison my wife drives a wallet draining 13 mpg 4wd mountaineer thats ungainly to drive and uncomfotable as hell.

2012 wrb wrx bought in April. DD with 32k. Fill her up every week with 93 and average 22mpg since I've gotten it, but yeah as soon as i get on it more, that drops significantly.

Rattles - Check
several paint chips - Check
Gear box not so great - Check

Driving it down any roads - priceless
fun with it - priceless

I do wish i had a wee bit better gas mileage, but you can't have it both ways...

2011 Wrx Sedan premium is my daily driver (cobb&bolt-ons). 23mpg winter. Awd in snow is a must for me.
Traded my 2012 legacy 30mpg for it. I drive 40 mins to work, and some bupper to bumper traffic on way home. Only thing i wish is more comfy seats (on long trips).
55,000 miles on it

My theory, if Im going to spend most of my time in it. I might as well have a smile on my face.

Mine is. 08 premium sedan stage 2. Protune, custom TBE (Catless custom cat back w/ turbo XS DP), K&N CAI, turbo XS BOV, H&R springs, unknown brand Boost controller (16.5 psi), upgraded stereo. Not a crazy a number of mods but enough to boost the enjoyment since the 08's stock were a little under powered in all areas but I don't care. I love her.

I drive 10 miles to work n back every 4th day. (Firefighter schedule). Other than that I take her out sporadically depending if it's for errands, a trip somewhere or to just cruise around.

Absolutely - commute until retirement day.

That's what I bought it for. SNOW and ICE.

My criteria: AWD, Manual, NOT a SUV, good handling, sporty, under $30K, nice looking, adequate MPG. There is really aren't many cars in that category.

And yes thank GOD I don't have any stop and go freeway driving in my 12 mile commute. All fun roads (that are never cleared).

You guys with rattles.....

Easy 5 minute fix. Most of them are coming from your a pillars. Go to the te hardware store spend 2.99 on some self adhisive felt pad. Take a 10 mm socket to the bolt on your a pillar and slide up to remove. Replace the masking tape on the tabs from subaru with felt. Enjoy some peace for a change.

I've been DD'ing my WRX for the last 4 years, and average 17-18k miles a year.

Sit in stop and go city traffic on campus every single morning..

Far too harsh of a ride to be a good daily driver, but that's my own doing.

WRX is my dd. Gets decent gas mileage as long as I keep my foot out of it I average 23mpg mixed. Work is only 10 freeway miles away, so I don't rack up miles very fast.
Only mods are Cobb DP/SPT Cat back, Cobb SF intake with box, custom tune, sways and KartBoy end links. Very happy with it.

Not anymore.

For the first 4 years I owned it, I took the train to work so I never drove it. I DD'd it for about 9 months while I had to drive to work after my company moved. Bought my Tacoma and now the STi is the garage queen/summer car.

The sad thing is that it looks like a daily driver. Hopefully I can detail away some of the more annoying flaws in it. I hate being a perfectionist.

I DD My 05 FXT.
30k miles/year, 2-4hrs of driving 4-7 days a week, highway/city combo, I get 19-24mpg depending on my roof rack setup, and the weather, (very long warm ups...and snow drifting) Built motor so I let it warm up and cool down more than I likely need to.

The stock FXT seats are not very supportive, and I want to get some Recaros soon. My back gets sore when I make the longer drives. She's on ST coils with group N top hats. They are about as comfortable as coils get when they handle as well as they do, in my opinion. I'm very pleased with the setup.

The clutch can get annoying in traffic jams, it's a stage 2 competition clutch full face organic. I don't regret it for a second, though!

I do plan on getting a Miata to keep the miles off the FXT, and get some nice mileage. Then go full stupid on the FXT.

My DD is a 2013 Forester 5 speed. I also have an 04 STi and a Miata for fun. Going from the Forester to the STi makes the STi feel like an absolute rocketship.

My 02 WRX is currently sitting in my garage waiting for the engine to be pulled. Come summer it will be my daily for the next few years until I decide to buy a 05 STi or a 2014 STi hatch

Got a 2004 2.5TS DD, just shy of 62k on it. My commute depends on my day, right around 20k a year though between fun and work. Once my 04 WRX is up and running, I'll run a 50/50 split of DD between the two.

Yup my WRX is my dd.
I put around 300 miles on it per week. I'm averaging 20-21mpg city/hwy. My longest commute is 20 minutes and I have no complaints about comfort.
My last car was getting 32mpg so sometimes I wish the MPG was better but meh, I can deal with it; same with the good old Cali traffic, I've always had manual cars so I don't mind it either.

It's all stock too save for an Invidia Q300 which is very tolerable for the dd.

My DD is an '01 Civic w/ 171k miles. I drive the WRX one day a week for about 25 total miles. Since October I have only put 1k miles on it. My low mileage definitely helped increase my trade value for the '15 WRX I am buying.

Yes. Daily my 07 STi only around 25 miles a day. Fuel economy is fine. Average about 29-30 MPG highway, and 385whp so not bad at all. As far as comfort is concerned, it's alright, nothing special. Suspension is fine, seats are decent, could definitely be better.

Until last year my daily driver was my 2007 Corolla, but since the Corolla will be going to my son when he gets his license, and I was getting bored driving it, I found a low mileage '98 Legacy wagon last year that is becoming my daily driver (4 days out of 5 on my 80 mile round trip commute). I was driving my old Nissan hardbody on the 5th day, but have since sold it to a coworker and picked up the 2005 OBS (which my wife will drive when I don't). So I will be driving all Subaru all the time (2 different ones).
