Sorry to bring this fittment up again, but I'd like to hear what more people think of how close this will be:
te37sl 5x100 +45 on 255/35/18 Stock coilovers. I know the diameter of the wheel/tire is 1.19% smaller than stock, it's more the fender rolling question and suspension clearance that I'm worried about. |

Gaaah, yes sorry - 18x9". Had it in my first post, but overlooked it this time. I don't mind rolling the rears a bit if I have to, but was hoping to avoid it until I upgrade the suspension...

2.) if you are scared of fender mods, stop looking at 9" wheels. |

Too late - i'm looking at them. Why would I pay thousands of dollars to go 8.5" wide when stock is 8"?

^Not a very good argument... There are lots of implications of going bigger... one being fender work, and another being camber. there are lots though...

If you are NOT interested in doing fender mods, you flat out don't need wheels that wide. Besides, lets be realistic....anything over stock isn't needed for a daily anyways. either way, if you are looking at 18x9 +45, even with 255's, it isn't all that bad. You'll probably need to roll if you went lower, but you should be OK at stock height - but be prepared to roll (even though you SHOULD be ok). |

Thanks - i really appreciate the advice, especially this: "You'll probably need to roll if you went lower, but you should be OK at stock height - but be prepared to roll". I'll keep you posted!

I just got some 18x9.5 +38 with 265/35 ties as suggested. Rear fenders rolled but there's slight rubbing in the rear, is it cause I'm too low or should I be running a little more negative camber in the rears. Currently have around half a finger gap between wheel and fender on KWv3's.

right now im really confused. according to this thread 18x9.5 et38 is best paired with 265/35r18 and with a small amount of fender roll it will avoid rubbing, i've read the entire thread but no results with that tire and wheel specs plus fender roll PLUS STOCK SUSPENSION. will those specs require me to get a stiffer/harder suspension? or it will be just fine with the fender roll only ?

For 265/35-18 (approx width of tire is 265) sidewall height = 92.8 mm diameter = 642.7 mm For 255/35-18 (approx width of tire is 255) sidewall = 89.3 mm diameter = 635.7 mm Stock WRX is 235/45-17 sidewall = 105.8 mm diameter = 643.3 mm Stock Sti is 245/40-18 sidewall = 98 mm diameter = 653.2 mm Of course, as mentioned, different tire brands will have slightly varying specs for the same tire size. |
