2015 wrx Pst carbon fiber driveshaft
Took advantage of the rally sport direct Labor Day sale and ordered a pst carbon fiber driveshaft for my 2015 wrx. My first impressions are very positive. The car is more eager to get going from a dead stop. Shifts also seem to be smoother and when I nailed the throttle going through 2nd , 3rd , and a little bit of 4th gear, the car definitely felt stronger!! I have another one coming tomorrow that I will install on my wife's car so I will update this post with her impressions. Update. Installed the wife's and her initial impressions are very positive also. She said it shifts MUCH smoother and definitely feels like it has more power. For what it's worth...her car is stage 1 etune

Do you think its worth the cost to replace it? Do you have other mods on the vehicle? |

I do believe it's worth the cost. I've had a couple of days now to drive it to work and back and I still believe it was a really good mod. My car is stage 2+ with a couple of suspension mods(group n trans mount, crossmember bushings, and kartboy wedge lock).

I thought the kartboy mod was definitely worth it. I would say it really made the car feel more connected. The two mods together will definitely take some of the jerkiness out of the car. Going through the gears makes me smile more now!!

after some driving time and issues I have had, I feel the need to update this thread. When I installed my pst drive shafts, my wife and I already had the kartboy wedge lock kits installed. My car drove perfect and it was a great improvement. Unfortunately, my wifes car had a good amount of nvh. PST was great to work with and they sent me 2 more drive shafts over the next month to try. No luck with either one. Phasing was not the issue as they were all rotated 90 and 180 degrees. After the last one didn't work, I decided to pull my pst shaft and put it in her car. It was much improved but not perfect and the other shafts had nvh in my car. At my wits end, I pulled the wedge locks out of both cars and all is like new. No nvh at all. The kit comes with 4 rear subframe bushings and I was able to leave them in and just remove the diff locks. I am talking with Tom now at Kartboy to see if we can resolve something. In closing what I have found is these are both good mods. They just don't seem to play well together.

I have the PST driveshaft and I'm getting ready to install a few mods on the rear. The Kart Boy wedge locks are on the list. Please let me know what you guys end up doing. |

Tom at kartboy was not able to offer any help other than to refund my money which I didn't do. I am still going to try to get the wedge lock kit to work with the pst drive shaft but I have been really busy working on building a garage. Right now I am running the pst drive shaft in Both cars without the wedge lock installed. The carbon fiber drive shaft is SWEET!!!!! I will try to work something out within the next week

Sorry for the thread revival, but were you ever able to get these parts to play nice? I have the PST driveshaft and I'm looking to firm up the diff but I don't want any issues.

He means to say, “the car you are driving is one that I do not believe you are finished paying off and therefore do not ‘own’, and I am drawing attention to that fact to make fun of you because I am not creative and I am envious of your purchase.”
Thanks for throwing this review up, I’ve been considering a carbon driveshaft recently, as I’ve heard there are some livability AND fun benefits. |

Nice. I'm waiting to install my 2018 STI trans into my 2016 WRX. Just ordered the STI PST driveshaft last Friday and gotta wait 4-5 weeks cause it's backordered. Oh well. Waiting on DSS rear axles anyways. Physically cannot wait to get this swap in.
