Laying out in the sun for more than 10 or 15 minutes is not a good idea. But if you are going to do it, wear at least SpF 40 sunblock and re-apply it every 1-2 hours if you value your skin and wish to avoid melanoma down the road.

I find it so ironic how many people (mostly women it seems) choose to sunbathe as a way to look/feel more attractive. Yeah, it's real attractive when at 32 your skin is creased, looks like leather and makes noise when you walk.

Not a racist question but is it true that Black people don't get sunburn easily?

i lost my nose once due to sunburn. It took a while to grow back. It was pretty disgusting, it was like a big peice bacon fell off my nose.

2 years ago I started this project to grow hair. (no jokes, I had been shaving my head for about 6 years). One night I just up and shaved it off. The next day it was about 70 out, so around 9 AM I rolled out and did some yard work for a few hours, ran some errands in my convertable, then threw the bike on my trunk and went riding.

After the ride I was in my car, about an hour from home. The top was in my trunk (del Sol, it's has a trunk rack for the lid) and my bike was on the trunk. It was about 5 PM when I started to feelmy head getting REALLY warm. There was nothing I could do.

I had 3rd degree sunburn on top of my head. Blisters, large dry patches of skin coming off, 3 or 4 different shades of skin on top of my head, and a sun poisoning sickness like you would not believe.

Thanks god I was born with naturally dark skin. No im not black im jsut dark skinned sicilian. In order for me to burn I have to be in the sun in the same position for at least 1 hr. I spent ALL DAY yesterday on a lake in 90+ degree weather sun all day and I got rosy red cheeks and a little red nose. Granted the lake is in indianapolis its still sun.
