There's a registry on this site that can let you know that info...There are a number of 12 second RS-T's running around...

Just have the money to handle this if you go for it...

I've got all that
At least I will as soon as all the parts show up for the KAAZ (not MRT) tranny.
I'll be sure to post times next time I make it to the track.

Stock 2.5 Block won't hold enough power for 11s. It will for high 12s, but not for long.

Some one talking about me "grannyshifting" yah tell me about it very bad 60' - 1.95 well coun't help it though i don't want my stock tranny to blow up when i took off. what mod do i have:

Blitz Nur Spec 3' Exhaust Sys
Minnum stage 2 turbo
Greddy Type-S BOV
Tial Wastegate
Turbonetics T3/T4 Super E60 Ball-Bearing
with Stage 3 compressor and turbine wheel)
STI fuel pump
NGK platinum spark plug (BKR7EVX-11)
10mm Spark plug wire
JE 8.5:1 low compression Piston
TEC 3
RC 600cc injector (PB8X-600)
Electromotive 02 sensor

This engine was able to make around 400+hp with 1.3bar of boost. and now i'm going to go with Cobb stage 3 engine with stage 3 head new header and 255lph fuel pump. i should be able to run low 12 with pump gas and maybe high 11 race gas . oho with new dog box ofcrose when i have enough money

becuase you can get a full 6mt driveline for about 6g's, a dogbox alone that will hold will cost you 6g's, not to mention you still need a decent differential in the rear

6spd stronger than a full dog box... yeah, I think not
More drivable... defiantly. But not stronger.

That seems pretty hard to believe. What kind of dog did you have and was is a full dog box or did it have synchros?
I only say so because I know of a rally team in Canada who has broken two 6spds and now runs full dog boxes w/ no issues.
It seems to me that it comes down to manufacturer more than anything else.

The 6mt's ARE much stronger than a dog box in any 5mt case you can come up with. Subarus 5mt case is pretty much the exact same gearbox that subaru has been using in all their 5mt cars for close to 2 decades... state of the art and bomb proof back when a 115 hp turbo car was very potent... now they're glass. The problem isn't due to the gears (like kaos said, he's broken 2 dog boxes) the problem is because the transmission case on the 5mt's is EXTREMELY flexible, under heavy loads the gears WILL move away from one another in any direction the flexible housing allows, suddenly your super indestructible magnafluxed cryo treated gears are only meshing halfway, begin to slip and then destroy themselves. The 6mt has MUCH wider gears (more difficult to slip off one another) and a case designed from high strength alloys using some hardcore computer modeling (this is why the 6mt is MUCH larger, and like 80lbs heavier), as opposed to 20 year old readily available metals and best guess modeling on graph paper. If swapping out other drivetrain components is really that much of a big deal, a dog box in a 5mt case that has ALOT of bracing welded to the outside of the case will survive some pretty harsh abuse, but case flex is still an issue. Some rally drivers like dog boxes over synchros because you can change gears much faster (don't have to wait for synchros to spin up) and long term durability isn't as much of a concern. For a road car not only are dog boxes noisy as hell (unless some company started making helical cut gears in a dog box) the dogs tend to wear out relatively quickly, no matter how well you treat the gearbox, and once the dogs are worn, all the gears have to be junked and re-machined.

That all makes sense.
It was my understanding however that the straight cut profiles of a dog box are supposed to limit the amount of case flex because the gears only try to force each other away left to right instead of pushing on each left to right as well as front to back like they do w/ the stock cut. Is that incorrect then, or dose it just not help enough to save the gear set?
Guess I should have researched a bit more before I spent a load of money on a gearset .
