When you replace the stock fog lights with hella 500 fog lights is it as simple as pulling off the stock one, unplugging it, and plugging in the new hella 500 fog light? or is there more wring needed?

you should insert a relay in place of the factory light, then wire the relay and a positive feed from the battery as well as a frame (ground) to the 500s... they pull more power than the factory lighting.

technically it will "work" with just plug and play, but you'll get more light from the above method.

I don't have the link available right now, but there is a pair of clamp like mounts that you can buy from a vendor. IIRC, it is like $50 for the pair. Otherwise, you can add lib by drilling holes or devising your own c clamp style mount.

The link is in this thread but I don't have the time to sift through 200 pages.

it's always better to use a relay and a direct connection to the battery because after market lights usually draw more amps than ****ty factory lights

plus it looks cleaner, and no worry of blowing the factory fog light fuse

AND you can then use 110w bulbs, or more lights, without needing to rewire it over again

Damn. I'm on an iPod touch, so going thru all the pages is impossible. And I don't like the idea of drilling thru the bar. Maybe I'll have a speed shop fab up something, or possibly make me a new light bar and skid plate.

My turn!

I didn't want the slightly heavier/ more expensive Rally Innovations light bar. But I did want the Oswald performance bumper beam. Why not combine the two?

Added extra "tow hook" bosses

Simple barstock bracket.

Had the hella's wire to come on with the fog light switch which was silly

Wired to come on with the high beams, MUCH better.

^what lights did you end up going with?

Side question, does anyone have any pics of 500ff driving lights throwing light down the road? All of my searches have yet to turn up some good pics of how well the 500ffs actually perform.

^^^ THIS !! was an exceptional idea Dave. Hope you don't mind my possibly copying/stealing it. I predict Mickey @ Oswald might get a few requests for the "extra" tow hook bosses...
