This is going to be interesting. If this thing spools the way I've read, it's going to set off an intense turbo race and some of these other companies are going to get left behind.
This thing looks incredible. Can't wait to see results. |

I can't wait to see the results either... if it these turbos perform as good as they have been hyped up to be, I'll be one of the first to buy Perrin's kit! Let's see some numbers Jeff!
EDIT: Jeff, are you guys planning on developing a twin scroll kit with these, or only sticking with single scroll? Last edited by Boosted WRX STi; 02-17-2011 at 09:39 AM. Reason: noted |

Remember formula 1 is getting 4 cylinder turbo charge engine by 2013, so turbo technology advancements are bound to happen

Oh god please develop a might twinscroll kit.....
What is with people and the twinscroll crap. I've yet to see a single twinscroll dyno chart that was impressive enough to get me to actually spend money on one. |

Jeff, you're da man! I will patiently await your results and I'm sure the data will be consistant and better yet there will be loads of it. I'm hoping to see awesome results. Keep up the good work Jeff!

Pretty exciting. It should also put to rest a lot of intellectual debate on GTX vs EFR. Boost plots between the two would also be awesome to see.

Since my motor has been built, I've been looking for a new turbo setup and I have been stoked about these EFR's but they look like they will be a colossal PITA to fit.

Wow that's a big boy! Why did BW decide to use an IWG over an EWG? Or are customers going to have the option to choose?
Thanks for sharing! |

if a turbo has an internal wg there's nothing stopping you from welding the wg shut and going external....or using a bracket to hold it shut and going external....just like most turbos have to do at the moment....vice the large turbos that only come with ext wg turbine housings
for the twin scroll applications they are offering the internals to save $$ and space "EFR optional internal wastegates are aerodynamically-optimized to offer the same performance as an external wastegate recirculated back into the downpipe - no 90 degree corners here. This is a real "value" feature of the EFR program, particularly in the case of twinscroll applications which require (2) external wastegates, (2) manifold wastegate ports (2) dumptubes for maximum performance. Furthermore, the manifold fabrication and installation are both simplified with the wastegated EFR models. Boost levels can be easily adjusted by swapping adjustable wastegate canisters available in three different spring rates/boost levels. Lastly, different turbo clocking positions are easy to accomodate without changing the wastegate bracket. This is because the bracket is bolted to the bearing housing backing plate - not to the compressor housing as is the case with most internal WG turbos. For space constrained applications which can not fit the EFR internal WG or Hardcore racers that want to keep their dual external wastegates mounted to the exhaust manifold - you can do that too!" http://www.full-race.com/articles/bo...fr-turbos.html |
