So Mr. Mech-E, could you turn that into an ICE and have a pair of pistons on either end of that 'yoke' turning the crank-gear-shaft-thingy? Would the gear-teeth loading be too high? Maybe would need/use a bunch more, but smaller teeth to spread the load?

I would suspect someone has already done something like this, but you never know. I'm thinking a 2-stroke version would be pretty easy to mock-up... no cam + valve timing to muck with, not that you couldn't turn cams off the end of the crank as well I guess.

Those last few sips never taste as good out of a plastic cup.

Checked out Mongoose Vs Cobra last night. Decent beer selection for sure. It's nice, but not overly nice. Wasn't crowded, but not dead either.

Sure, why not. I have seen a similar arangment with a giant cam instead of a crank.

I think there may be an issue with the "smoothness" of this design though. I think the guy that goes back and forth should be at a relative constant velocity in each direction, so I think at the ent of the stroke there is a super high acceleration "impact" while it changes direction. This of course means huge loads on the teeth and limited torque/force capacity.

If there was a soundtrack with the gif I would think it would be a bit of a "clanker"

Here enjoying a Coney Island bourbon barrel aged Blockhead. Very bourbon-y.

Just got a fried pork bun and a "BDL" dog.
