Enjoying a great beer, a great song and finishing up a conversation with a cute girl who gets me after a long day.

GF made a big deal about wanting to know our vocal ranges (she sings for fun, I don't). Apparently my vocal range is from ~F2 to C5 and that's purdy good for a guy with 0 training? Go me?

For the first time in 2 months I didn't have anywhere I needed to be today. No kids soccer games, no appointments, no having to help someone with something.

Got to sleep in and woke up with the cat all snuggled up to me and purring in her sleep.

Looking forward to having time for a nice, large, hot breakfast...with plenty of bacon.

It's Monopoly IRL today. Usually I throw away anything from banks I am not actively banking with but I saw a barcode on this one from Citibank and BOOM! Bank error in my favor!

$400 going to another credit card and the remaining is going to sushi tomorrow.

Nice, we have double coverage insurance and will semi frequently get a check from the secondary insurance. Used to be $5, but lately it's been $100+.

Went to pick up a gun purchase, and I was able to find a Seafoam Yeti cooler to replace my Wife's one that I ruined back in September. Only a $350 mistake lol

No doghouse for me.

For $350 you could have bought her 3 good coolers.

I like it when you cut your jib. Or something.

Not sure why that would be a gripe, and the way a fresh toothbrush feels is [EXPLETIVE DELETED] GREAT!

My wife and I have been spending all our spare time working on our new house. Recently it's been a ton of painting...prep & paint, prep & paint.

We haven't moved into the house yet but do have wifi setup. I've got a Google Music account and a good bluetooth speaker. So we always have music playing while we are working...and a variety too...classical, 80's, jazz, etc.

The other day I went with comedy.

Damn but that was a ton of fun! The time just flew by and it was absolutely hilarious. I didn't want to stop working 'cause that would mean turning off the player, packing up and leaving.

It was a bit distracting at times though. Overall it was a total win.

Such win. Who have you been listening to?

I started listening to comedy with Google Play or Pandora on long drives but have added a mix of comedians to my daily commute. You get a lot of overlap and replays of the same tracks but here's a list of some recommendations. You may be aware of some already but aside from clips, othe have full specials on Play.

Patton Oswalt
Hannibal Burress
Geoff Tate - his newer stuff is better
Ian Edwards - kills
Kyle Kinane - everything he does is gold IMO
Bill Burr

I don't recall the specific comedians...I picked a Brian Regan bit and "Start Radio". It was an awesome mix of hilariousness.

The '18 Sienna and the '18 Outback 3.6 have almost identical power to weight ratios.

Sienna 296hp, 263ft-lb, 4430lb vs Outback 3.6: 256hp, 247ft-lb, 3893lb

Even though I'll be stuck with a minivan instead of the Outback I really want, at least it'll have some kick to it.

Comedy channels are a fantastic way to spend an otherwise crappy commute to/from work.

The reliability gives one pause, but my wife's new Pacifica (Plugin) Hybrid is really quite fantastic. Powertrain is great--nearly imperceptible switch to/from gas and the 33 miles electric range is pretty realistic. Uconnect is very customizable and between that and hard buttons the driver-facing interface is good.

I'm not buying a van this year only to have to buy a Sienna in a year when that van breaks down twice.

The Sienna might be faster because of the normal automatic. But damn that H6-CVT combo is buttery smooth.

18 Sienna doesn't look that different from the current gen. No thanks. It wallows like a whale on the road. And it has AWD but cannot tow. WTF?

I'd consider Sienna when it has the Hybrid Synergy AWD drivetrain at a reasonable price. Which is probably never....

I'm not getting AWD, I want the tow rating and 8-passenger seating, or really, 2-3-0 seating with a ton of gear, luggage, and dog(s) in the back while towing our 1500lb camper.

The main reason I waited for '18 was Toyota Safety Sense, radar & camera system for collision avoidance and adaptive cruise control, is now standard equipment across the entire line, not just an option on the highest cost trim.

Ah, towing. No towing at all with the PacHy.

Prior to '18 the cruise control wasn't full speed adaptive either. Only pre-'18 Toyotas that got the all singing and dancing cruise were the current-gen Prius and the Prius Prime, iirc.

Is the Toyota middle seat more than a foot wide jump seat now?

Here's another joy for you: when I'm redlining through the gears in my Miata, I think I'm so super cool and fast, but the reality is...it's barely, marginally faster in a straight line than your 2.2 ton, quiet, comfortable 8 person people hauler.

And I don't have any hearing damage from a flapping rag top.
