Default Narrow body front bumpers

Where is the section on updating or using front bumper from later years?

Have 08 WRX front and rear as plain as they come.

What are the best options and weights?

08 premium front bumper weights about 5 lbs.

Hi
I thought my question was fairly clear listed at the top.

I'll rephrase it, What year WRX front bumper can I update to that will fit my 2008?
Isnt 2008 the same up to 2010 for WRX?
If I update to a 09 or 2010 with the lower trim added on the bottom that that give the option for better aftermarket lips or less effective font bumper after market lips?

Thank You

First Picture, I believe is my bumper but with aftermarket front lip.

2nd Pic is ideal for air ducts but I'm not spending over a $grand

well, first, if you pull up a picture of an 08 wrx vs 09, your eyes should tell you, they are completely different, and will not be interchangeable.

basically the 08 is a 1 off POS year subaru tried to appeal to a bigger market by toning the car down like a civic or camry.

the 2008 STI has the wider body, WRX does not, basically to fit a newer front bumper you would need to purchase the front side panels and some modification, doing the rear will become a whole mess of issues.

sadly i was after the same thing as i cant stand the ***** look and little smile on the lower bumper when you look at the car head on... but have learned to deal with it as it would cost thousands to change over. dropping the car 3/4" and adding mudflaps definately makes it look much better, add a front lip and doesnt look too bad imho.

i looked into a few aftermarket bumper options, while they look nice, reviews say cheap crap, so i ended up not trying it.

Absolutely a WRX is different than a STI. STI is wide body unless getting a 2011+ WRX which has WB.

I'm just talking about WRX here.

WOW, a 2008 you are calling a POS. Why
Where specifically in your Opinion is the 08 is a POS ?

well #1 the suspension is a soft piece of... (changed in 09 significantly, where its hard to believe 08 was ever even set to the spring rates they chose, its a HUGE difference)
#2 the turbo was a joke, notice they went to vf52 in 09+
#3 exterior styling is very timid
#4 interior styling is pretty bad, also changed in 09

I dont mean its literally a POS, just that subaru learned from that mistake and made significant improvements directly the next year.

ive grown to love my 08, just dyno'd on the 5th of Feb and put down 305/335 on 91acn and 350/390 on e70

the last thing i want to swap is a 6spd and the r180 diff, just waiting on the day i lose 3rd gear lol.. its been holding up to my abuse amazingly well..
