Tessa was pretty good in the STi... she'd stay in the back seat on the cover I had to protect the "leather." Since I got the truck, though, every time I leave her in the car I come back to her curled up in one of the front seats. I guess she prefers upholstery to "leather."

Well at least you know the leather won't get chewed up. Rocko likes the taste of it and chewed on my wife's BMW seat.....ONCE!!!

Our Bowser destroyed his in ~5 mins. Thankfully we got our money back. YMMV.

If you can find a toy that holds up to a Vizlsa other than a lacrosse ball or a hard wood stick let me know

For us, the key has been to PLAY with the toys, they put them away. We don't leave stuffed toys out for him to sit there and chew on. Left alone with enough time, any dog would destroy any toy. Hell, dogs are made to chew bone, fabric doesn't have a chance.

So, that said, what we do leave out is his elk antler. He loves to chew on it and it's not being destroyed. Best $25 I ever spent.

Yeah, we let him destroy the fluffy toys. I just wish I could find a chew toy that was
-hard enough to survive
-not rawhide
-not gone in 30 mins

Elk Antler? Where the fark did you get that?

I got it at a dog show about a year ago, but lots of places online are starting to carry them now.

http://www.bestbullysticks.com/home/...k_antlers.html

Because elk are typically much larger than deer, their antlers are much bigger and make for a longer-lasting chew. The trace elements and minerals in the antlers are an added nutritional bonus.

Elk Antlers are a great choice because:
* They hold up longer than most other types of chews
* They're safe, because dogs grind them down slowly, over time
* They contain many beneficial nutrients and nothing artificial
* They have virtually no odor or residue to get on your carpet or furniture
* They're a single-ingredient, natural chew from a renewable resource
* There are no added ingredients in the processing of the chews!
This one I got is about a foot long

bully sticks also last a decent amount of time (can be found in most dog stores). Takes my dog about 20mins to finish one. She also destroys fluffy toys in no less than 2min but like sharkbait said the key for me was to take the fluffy toy away when play time is over.

Thanks, just ordered a pair for my pair of chewers, who are alternately scratching at my feet and staring at me trying to get me to play.

Bodi runs through the bully's so quick it makes me nervous. He is a gulper so he tends to basically eat the last inch or so.

Sharky- thanks, ordering one now to try out.

Same here. My guys LOVE bully sticks, but they don't last long enough to be worth the money.

The local pet place (Benson's) has some imitation bully sticks made out of chicken skin for a couple bucks. We got one on a whim, a 3' model, and Bowser had it gone inside of 5 minutes. Frozen bully sticks usually at least last 30 mins or so...

We do deer antlers from ebay, about 40 bucks shipped for a bunch of them if you find a good deal. The dogs love them, puppies and all, they do a good job cleaning teeth and they get a bit of minerals from the antlers.

Just don't buy them as dog chews, get the sheds or ones for craft projects. The dog chew ones you'll usually pay out the ass for.

We've been having issues with Ayrton and counter surfing. He steals bread off the top of the microwave. It's been ongoing for about a week or two. Today, I caught him red-handed! (or pawed.)

After the carnage...he went back for more!!!

Yup. World's most expensive dog bed.

It's the only piece of furniture I let her on.
