I bought a complete BMW exhaust, manifold back, shipped 2-day free via Amazon Prime.

My old Xbox 360 Elite finally RROD'ed last night (Thurs). Ordered a new 360 S this morning (Friday), paid $3.99 shipping, it will be here tomorrow (Saturday).

Love the Prime.

I've had prime for 6 yrs running, and even if I didn't order anything except for the thing I originally got Prime for, I'd still be about $500 ahead.

I built a garage gym from Amazon - signed up for Prime and ordered a stand alone pull up stand, a bench press station, and a pro squat rack.

Also ordered a tree to hold all my weights, as well as a barbell and some other assorted odds and ends.

Delivery without prime was estimated at $600-$700.

Wait, kind sir - you signed up for Prime? FREE, BITCHES!

My favorite part was when a semi showed up with the little piggyback forklift on it - and the guy forklifted my crap into my garage.

I buy EVERYTHING on Prime.
Jock itch? 3 pack of Tinactin! PRIME, BITCHES!
Replaceable toothbrush head thingy for my dildo/toothbrush? Auto replenishment (which RULES), shows up every 3 months, PRIME, BITCHES!
Rogaine so that I can hang on to whatever hair I have left? 3 pack! Auto replenishment! PRIME, BITCHES!

This year, I pulled off something I've tried to do for 3 yrs: Purchase every present for every person this Xmas via Prime - had Amazon wrap it and everything.

Side note: For $3.99, Amazon will wrap ANYTHING, and they do it creatively - they wrapped my nephews firetruck in a giant santa sack with a bow on it - high quality sack, too.....really, really cool.

The sack almost overshadowed the fire truck.

GeoPRIME, BITCHES!

This might be a better claim than the Eric Clapton thread.

I love prime. Been a member for 5 years. With TN sales tax at 9.25% and free shipping with prime, its a no brainer.

The only thing that I've found amazon to lacking on is power tool prices. Home depot is almost always 20-30 bucks less than amazon. HD has also been running the free tool promotions for the ryobi stuff, which i use and abuse for home projects.

otherwise amazon is the bringer of all things for me.

My UPS guy hates my guts. I've even ordered furniture through amazon. Watching that guy struggle to drag that stuff up to my door was kind of funny and sad all at the same time.

It's posted on their site, but they hadn't missed it in a couple of years so I haven't exercised that. It's when they give you a date range, and they deliver it outside of that date range. The range is usually wide enough to enable them to overcome a weather delay anyway.

Free stuff is cool, though.

I love my free Prime for being a student, but computer parts are almost always cheaper on NewEgg, which has also never let me down.

Thanks to this thread I broke down and ordered prime for $39. Now I need to find stuff to order to justify getting prime.

It will pay for itself easily if you use the app PGT mentioned OR if you wait for next Christmas.

Watch some TV or movies in the mean time.

Subscriptions for TP, paper towels, dish soap, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, laundry detergent.

And enjoy NEVER having to go to the store for those things, ever again.

My free Prime trial is about to expire soon but this thread just convinced me to renew for the full membership. I am going to try and buy everything but food from Amazon this year.

I use my Amazon Chase while traveling on business, so I've racked up tons of Amazon points. Since I'm back in school I get Amazon Prime free, and use the Amazon Mom stuff to buy our diapers, etc. using subscribe and save. Plus whey protein, razors, etc. can be bought with subscribe and save and then you just set them to either a 6 month delivery or just cancel after the item arrives.

I'm actually considering buying the actual Prime full membership that gives me access to streaming video, etc. right now since it is half price for students.

So...yeah bacdoc...your claim is correct.
I only got prime free for a year for being a student...am I missing out on something?

It's selection is as crappy as Netflix for the most part in terms of movies.

Another consideration is that PS3 and 360 stream Netflix, but they don't do Amazon video so if you use one of those you're out of luck.

I watch the Amazon Prime movies on my TV, the TV has a built-in application for it. They're great, most movies are $2-4. It's much better in terms of selection than Netflix, and if you only watch one movie per week or less like we do, it's cheaper than Netflix too.

We're talking about the free Amazon Prime movies, not the pay per view selection, which is better.
