Motorhead,
That is a cool and quite clean example. Your right about Porsche pride as this is MY first, not the rest of family though (997 GTS, 996 C4). I did the 993 due the simpler design and fact it is OBD1. I do as much work as I can on my vehicles so maintenance shouldn't be too big a deal. However, I'm properly stoked to get a proper cruise on and do an oil change. MvP

This has been sitting in a corner of my barn for a couple of years, overflow from my dad's collection. Concourse winner, gets out every 6 months or so. Need to drive more. Will inherit someday. |

Haters gonna Hate
Those are very nice examples Beer and Wobbley. Beautiful color on the Targa. That 914 is a proper drive on the track. A mate uses it especially for A/X.
When I get mine back tomorrow, I'll post a few cell pictures. MvP |

Porsches have always made me :gusta:
Almost thinking of holding out until the new Cayman, but I'd love to pick up a used one in the next year or so. Some of the nicer 993s are very fappable. Not sure what to do. |

Darn, that is nice and what a background! 914's have not been on my list for a long, long time. Seeing stuff like this causes me to re-think that position.
It is funny to see how much this little guy inspired the MR2 platform. MvP |

They're a fun car. I've had the fortune of driving my 914-4, an ej207 swapped 914, an original 914-6, and a 3.0l 914-6***8230; and I loved every single one of them. I'm slowly debating on a 2.4 flat 6 for my -4 though.

just a little FYI... If you ever need to buy a new Targa Top for that, they are $5,000 or more from a Porsche Dealer, so take care of that one

Another fake Porsche owner here. I've owned 3 944's, and still own one, though it's been sitting
In need of some time on a frame machine for a few years. I bought this one to replace the drivetrain on my track 944, which I ended up selling with a blown engine. |

The interior is less than good. (Disclaimer: I went with the sand colored interior, very hard to keep clean and it shows wear) It's laid out well for anyone 6-1 or less (I'm 6-0) and all that, but it does NOT wear well at all. All the plastic bits, like the radio buttons, the center console, and the ring around the light knob, have a very soft, VERY cuttable 'film' on it - and this film cuts really easy. I've resorted to peeling as much off with my fingernail during red lights as I can, because the color under the plastic is the same as the film. Also, the stock brakes and rotors are butter soft - I went thru the brakes @ 25k, and the rotors are toast @ 50k. Both of these are obviously very fixable. GeoB |

Will have to see if I can find pictures of my old 914-4. A friend gave it to me just to get it out of his garage. He had already done all the suspension work for it to be a SCRC racer. Had upgraded brembo vented disc brakes up front. VERY FUN car. The Ex wife ran me into debt and had to sell it to cover her crap. Miss it very much.
Keeping the eyes peeled for a reasonable 911 that I can put in the garage and tinker on. |

I made a terrible purchase a few years ago. I was looking for a 930 cab, but in the process I ended up buying a 986 before doing enough research on them. I paid 15000 and ended up dumping it a few months ago for 8000 after spending 6000 on the car and was still having an engine rebuild in the next 30000 miles. I really should have found a 930. I'm probably going to wait a couple of years and see where the prices for 2009-2011 997 end up.

Subscribing mainly because I want a Porsche, have the means to get one, but that also means sacrificing one of my other cars to get it.
So mainly I am here to be tortured by your cars and learn some things too. I really want a 996 Turbo. |

I was looking a 996 C4S and 997 C2S all day. The C4S is properly beautiful with it's turbo body/look. The IMS should be resolved now if it hasn't shown up on the vehicles for sale due to age/mileage. Yeah, the 993 is expensive for age comparatively speaking, but I cannot see the 997 holding its value until it is much older.

All 911s cost at least $20k to be a decent car. All 911 shoppers please remember this golden number. Of course some are much more.

My 2.0 project, has Mahle euro spec pistons/sleeves, webcam, dual weber 40's. About swap in a SVDA, add a triad exhaust, and then move on to bodywork/wheels/interior.

Do it! Mine's been trouble free the last 3 years.
Planned to trade it in on a 997.1 turbo but decided to spend the difference on turbo/clutch/injectors and maybe a new front bumper next year. I know I'm in the minority but I like the headlights. Front bumper... not so much. |
