playing with the bike today.

this is the mount for road book/rally frame. The pc sticking up/out is my aloonymoon spacer vs having it solid thick heavy steel pc.

Checking just to make sure the steering works.

Dakar 2017!!!

Any KTM riders looking for a sweet handlebar/rally lite set-up? Since I have the frame mount I'm going to sell what I don't need.

That looks like it could be a lot of fun. Tell us what you think when you are done. I'm interested to hear in peoples' opinions of Triumph bikes.

I've done D -> E (or a little past) and back in a car! Great roads. Some tricky corners even in a car; can't imagine it on a motorcyle, I bet it was a blast.

I wish I had roads like that here. Gotta head a ways west to get anything twisty.

I've done that road on a bike, it was fun but exhausting. I rode from Tahoe to Santa Cruz that day so it was loooong.

Look at Bonneville or Thruxton. Especially in this color because it makes too much sense.

RC390 cup to debut at RdAm this weekend.

http://www.roadracingworld.com/news/...bGapk.facebook

For the first time in decades I will not be attending.

A-Dave are you still on solid ground (not floating) in TX?

Weather so far looks like some rain on Saturday with upper 60's and sunny Sunday.

So, can I get some opinions on this Tiger? Here's some maintenance details from the guy offering it.

Quote:
52126 miles
Chain/Sprockets done at 45K, OEM set that lasts about 25K and still looks good at that point
Rear tire 45K, PR2 which usually gets around 12K
Valves checked at 48K
Air filter replaced at 48K
Front tire at 49K also PR2
Tune/TBs done at 50K
Stator at 44K
The 3rd cylinder is just slightly over spec on the loose side but has remained at the same gap for the last 20K.
Mileage is high, but it seems like it's been well maintained. The body work is in somewhat rough shape, with a cracked and epoxied fairing, tank bag scratches, and some scratches on a pannier from a driveway tip over. My VStrom is in similar shape, plastics wise, so it's not like my bike is flawless.

How much does he want for it? Is he the original owner? Almost seems like he is the second owner and the first owner neglected it pretty bad and he is trying to churcb it up a bit. How mucb does he want for it?

Oh and if he is saying he is getting 45k out of a PR2 rear tire then he is a fool and a liar.

I'm thinking he meant he replaced it at 45k, not that it lasted 45k .

No, he means that the rear tire was replaced at 45k miles.

We'd be doing an even swap, my 09 VStrom ABS with 21k miles for his Tiger SE with 51k miles. I'm on the fence.

No. I wouldnt. I love the strom as mucb as the next guy but the tiger is a better bike. Better power, better brakes, better suspension...better bike. I am assuming you want something new without putting much if any money out of pocket?

Yeah I'm east of all the flooding.

I'm really excited to attend motoamerica, I have several friends racing in the ktm cup. It's going to be exciting for sure.

I'd be wary of a trade for that bike. The mileage seems a little high to me and like Hpi said, it sounds like it has been churched up.
