Default car just died on me this morning

I was gonna go to the bank so I went outside to start my car. Then I came inside my house for 5-10mins until I notice that I don't hear my car's exhaust anymore. I ran outside and notice that my car is dead with the corner corner/tail lights on still, I usually leave the corner lights switch on.

I tried starting the car and I notice that the temp gauge was way up there at boiling point. I tried starting the car it wouldn't start either.

Starter works, still have coolant left a lot of it, battery works still as the window still scrolls up and down. Could it be the car alarm? I couldn't turn on or off the corner lights by unlocking my car. I had to unplug the negative on the battery.

Well these are my mods on my 98RS.
107,000 miles
Fuji K ported heads
stromung dualtip catback
NGK G-Power spark plugs
Autolite spark plug wires
'93 Wagon coilpack <-----could the coilpack be the problem? I see no corrosion

I also have a dead front 02 sensor that is causing my car to eat **** load of gas. 40miles city driving and half tank already. WTH!

Any help would be great.

edit:

I then tried unpluging the #2 spark plug wire to see if my car spark or not and the car did start but then it dies right away.

bad ground off the battery is my bet... take a set of jumper cables and run just the negative cable to any beefy piece of metal you can find under the hood. (with the other end on the negative battery terminal)

electrical burning or engine/oil burning? bad grounds WILL cause your gauges to do all kinds of wierd things. I recently witnessed a camper-van with a temp gauge that went full hot, problem came down to a bad ground near the fusebox.

is the temp gauge all the way up as soon as you turn on the key? then it is electrical.

LOL...

Anywho I installed a 98RS coilpack I bought from a fellow member on RS25.com. After I finished installing it with the standard subaru plug wires, the car wouldn't spark still the temp guage needle moves up to HOT point.

???

Okay...car still ain't working. Was suppose to have a friend come over with his 99RS and I just switch crank sensor for a min or so but then he's too busy spending $$$ at the arcades.

So could it be that I don't have fuel going through? My car ran out of fuel a week ago and it didn't start until I pour some fuel into the tank.

I also notice that my crank sensor is covered in oily black substance. So I'm gonna take it out and clean it. Does anyone know if I can just spray some carb cleaner/brake cleaner onto it?
