Question EJ22T bore&stroke?

who knows the bore and stroke of the ej22T motor?

I've been thinking (HEHE This could hurt me), What is the bore and stroke becaues, If the stroke is smaller than the EJ25 motor I may be able to use the EJ25 crank in the EJ22 block and use forged rods for the EJ25. than use 30over pistions for the EJ22T block and some machining I could have a 2.3-2.4L motor(haven't worked out the math yet). with it being more reliable than a built EJ25 block, and more power than a EJ22T block. I thought The EJ25 block and EJ22T block physicaly is the same exact block!(except for the open deck thing) Any machinest on board? any Theorys? has anyone looked into this yet? I heard when you use the EJ22T block with the EJ25 heads you lose a ton of torque that is why i am tring to do this!

k, a couple things, the bore and stroke of the EJ22T is 96.9mm x 75mm. A 2.5RS crank will go right in although you will need custom made pistons and rods. The EJ25 stroke is 79mm. 79mm is 3.16" and 75mm is exactly 3". Not much of a difference in stroke. Using these numbers a stroked EJ22T will net 2.39L which is about 2.4L

You will lose some low end torque with the EJ22 with EJ25 heads but the car is definetly drivable still. The torque loss is mostly from the low compression and not the short stroke because as you can see, the stroke is only .16" shorter. By stroking the engine, you will gain some low end torque back but limit your upper rpm power and make the R/S ratio a little worse for turbo applications. Not the best trade off if you ask me because you because as has been shown, the even smaller 2.0L engine has made some incredible power. It would get very expensive to do as well.

The EJ22 and EJ25 engines (the heads anyway) are rather different beasts. The EJ22 heads flow rather poorly in comparison to the EJ25 heads. Most issues I've seen people here have with turbo'd EJ25 engines is not conrods or valves or the crank but the pistions- they like to split at the valve relief.

I thought the equation to work out CC's is,

PI x r2 x stroke x 4.

3.14 x (48.5 x 48.5) x 79 x 4 = 2.33lt

Assuming 97mm bore.

Where am I going wrong.

I converted everything to inches first so it might come out a little different. I didn;t test your calculations.
