That looks real good. How do you think it would look if you replaced the red with yellow?

Bleach is great for removing the chrome inside the badge, you have to be really careful with solvents, they like to eat up plastic real quick.

Wet or dry it didn't matter for me, I did use wet sand paper and ran the badge under the faucet every now and then to keep it clean as I was sanding.
For Polish, don't worry about polish if the outside of the badge looks good. The paint will fill in all the scratches on the backside. Since I made the mistake of using solvents I had some polishing to do on the outside of mine, so for that case I used a headlight restoration kit to do the outside of the badge. |

There was nothing behind the front emblem. I promise!! It was just the chrome oval and the inner stars plastic piece. The double sided stock tape is NO JOKE! It's freaking bonded pretty good to the grill. Keep working at it and heating a little bit at a time and it should come off with some elbow grease. Careful and let us know!

So, going to tackle this tomorrow, and from what I'm reading the best thing to take the paint off is sanding, then to use bleach sparingly to get the chrome off?
For the rear on a '11 hatch, does it come off with just heat and elbow, or do i need to go from inside as well? I didn't find a clear answer on this and dont remember seeing access to it when i painted my taillights. Thanks. Thinking of the pink stars with black background, looked clean and match my RAmudflaps . Or everything flat black. *Flips a coin* |
