Default walbro 255 pump in a baja - Problem Solved!!

after so much agony and grief over what should be, and is .... (with other cars)... a simple easy job!

I found the easiest way to drop the 255 pump into our baja gas tank with no clearance issues, bottoming out against the bottom of the gas tank.

All you need ............

drum roll......

is a fuel sock for a 1992 toyota supra fuel pump.

its a shorter 90 deg bend. it snaps right onto our stock OEM pump inlet, and the 255 pump inlet of course.

And the sock orientation and fastening is exactly the same as stock. The filter screen itself is quite a bit smaller so it actually drops down into the tank much easier, with less fuss.

You still have to clamp the end cap on yourself with zip ties as others have done, or with an all stainless steel gear clamp. the clips wont lock in. but you can get it rock solid with a gear clamp and by trimming off the little barbs that are supposed to lock in.


It worked great! Highly recommend. will post up some pics and a how-to to save others the pain and aggravation that goes with this mod.

That sounds awesome. Pictures please! After my 30,000 mile service I'm going to start modding my 06 silver baja turbo 4eat. Does this sound decent? Any help would be much appreciated.

Plans for summer:
1)RT downpipe and cat
2)RT or custom cat back exhaust with a turn down tip.
3)255 pump with your mod
4) Intake of drop in filter
5) STI TMIC
6) Boost gauge
7) Pro Tuned
