Default Looking at an 09 STI

Hi there, new poster here.

So, I want to get into the Scooby game. I've been looking at a low mileage STI hatch but they are all too expensive where I live.

So I'm looking at something that traveled a bit more.
Here I find an 09 with 100'000 miles. Head gaskets have been replaced, P/S pump rebuilt, new left front wheel bearing, fresh alignment and just passed tech inspection.

Car doesn't look bad on the pics but here's the question :
Is the car a bit too high mileage ? I know about rod bearings and oil pick up tubes, but would it be wiser to save up some more and buy a lower mileage one ?

I'm a bit tired of my actual car, 90's MR2. Always a squeak and a leak and something that goes wrong.

I know I won't buy a bulletproof Camry, but looking for something with more power that won't have issues right away.

Here's the ad : http://www.tutti.ch/thurgovie/vehicu...k_18721762.htm

So.... what do you guys think ? Get it or leave it ?

100,000 mile vehicle could be in far better shape than one with 20,000 miles.
no way in hell to know whether the owner neglected maintenance whenever possible and beat the crap out of it, or was meticulous about maintenance and understood physics well enough to know why you don't rev a motor to 6000 rpm's from a stop and then dump the clutch to impress your buddies.

all you can do is try and learn what you can about the owner (he's more important to understand than the car) and make a decision on whether you think he beat it to hell or took great care of it.

I know one thing, in two more years when my 16 has 100k miles it will be a great car.

100,000 miles is not too high for this type of car. As @rtv900 already stated, it really depends on how well the car was taken care of. A properly maintained car has no problems reaching 200,000 or more.

Things I look for:

1. Documentation of maintenance
2. General feel of owner (i.e. are they an enthusiast that really cares about their car, maturity, etc?)
3. And depending on the car, taking it to a mechanic I trust to do an evaluation.

Where are you located?

Your link brought me to some foreign site. Cars in Russia will certainly be different from those in Thailand. Aside from cars 25 years or older, there are few Subarus that are legally importable to the US.
