Im running a stock V4 sti type RA tranny. so yes its still a 5speed. I have a friend Logan who is running a less built car than mine, and he drives it way harder than i drive mine and he never breaks anything other than rear axles.

-Stephen

p.s. just an update, broke an axle at the last event and am done for this season and more than likely the next few years due to school. Might be building an S30 240Z for ****s, but who knows.

there is way too much win in this thread......jealous beyond your comprehension.

Ever think about using the rwd scoob to compete in SCCA events like a road course?

that's reassuring... I gutted my center diff and an open R160 today, I'll have them TIG'd up and just run autozone axles next season so I can keep returning them

thanks man!

ya i drift the **** out of my legacy as much as i can
im rocking a usdm forester tranny with unknown km and a welded center diff and no issues there
flat foot shifting all the time mid drift from 1-2 and also 2-3 with no gear issues ether

as for the rear end, 3.7 (auto loyal) welded with junk yard axles all the time
i run the male axles (the ones that slide into the diff with no roll pin) for quick changes, i can jack the car, replace the axle and lower it back down in about six mins now (not exaggerating)

So it's been like three years since you did this but I was planning a similar build. I have a ver 5 Sti ej207 six speed r180 swap brembos you know... Anyway I do have dccd but for some strange reason I have this over powering desire to slide my car with epic amounts of tire smoke... But I digressed... What tranny where you using and what advice can you give? Pm please!
