I got a 99rs with v7 swap and mismatched male axles and early stub style preload carriers. Only the left side leaks but couldn’t figure out leak so replaced bearing preload carrier and seals with new same wrong one. Taking that out to replace the left side with correct part for male axle and the bearing and race are all dull and shedding metal flake. My generic manual said bottom out and add 1 to 1-3/4 teeth on the adjuster to tension the diff. Is that correct? Don’t want to burn up the new bearing I have to install with the correct adjuster.
