I'm surprised the moderators haven't threatened to ban "Road & Track" for suggesting that this thing might have AWD.

I'm waiting for the STI AWD version for 2014... Always wanted an STI coupe.

Technically, this article was written on May 31, 2011, making it a NEW article. Just saying.

I think it's very handsome and the sports car fan on me hopes it's a success for Subaru and Toyota.

FT-86 can't accommodate that.

The front chassis is too far different. Which is why those of us who agree with you about an AWD coupe of STI grade, are hoping that FT-86 is not the only Subaru coupe offering to come along.

That said, for it's role, I hope FT-86 does do well, and appeals to it's target customer.

I'm pretty sure they're already working on an Impreza 2 door. They confirmed the sheet metal for the FT86\086a was the same. So this other thing they have flying around the ring has to be that. It definately is not a 4 door and not the 086a.

I hear the FT-86 AWD is parked next to the flying car from Popular Mechanics issues from the '60's and an old Mopar with a 100mpg carburetor!

In fairness, only 3 working days. of course, in engineering terms the Subaru isn't based on the Toyota, the Toyota is based on the Subaru...
