I like that composition a lot too. Rain pictures are underrated..

So I went back to shoot at the same place since my roommate got his wheels refinished. I'm pretty happy with the outcome so I know how I'll be positioning vehicles in relation to the sun from now on.

So the sigma 35mm let me down the other day. I was on a shoot doing some spring pictures for a couple young people when i realized the 24-70 wasnt going to produce the look i needed for this shot but i had my 35mm 1.4 in my bag so i threw it on. Its partly my fault bc i put it on my D750 when i had only used it on my z6... The z6 had the heavy 135 1.8 i didnt want to take off so i swapped out the zoom for the 35. Did about 100 pictures in 3 places before swapping back and going back to headhots and the 135mm. They looked good in lcd screen and when i got home about 90% of the close range 35mm shots had the focus missed come to find out its a known issue... I never realized it bc the z6 hits the focus everytime and i never knew it had a problem on the other one. Thank god i was able to compile enough pics that were sharp from those to get by but i will not be using that on the d750 anymore.

Thatís weird. Mirrorless shouldnít have that issue. I have the sigma 35 for e mount and it literally never misses. Did you use eye af? Single point? Sometimes it hunts in low light but once it indicates focus itís never off.

Yeah the mirrorless z6 was spot one, it was the D750 was off most of the time. I had it on the D750 though bc it was just more convenient

Oh makes sense. The AF on my Nikon copy was hot garbage when using phase detect.

I read about people painstakingly going zone by zone with the usb dock to re calibrate it with mixed results, i figure its better to just keep using on the mirrorless haha.

I love those FiSTs. Its a great little lens for sertain shots so ill def keep it.

Got myself a new car. 2018 M2, has BMW 763M wheels, BMW performance coilovers, and a bunch of carbon fiber

Such a nicer car compared to the RS. Glad to be in something more sophisticated.

I like going early in the morning or just before sunset.
I just drive and I loved that!
And I kind make a day trip like said on https://www.roadstotravel.net/usa-an...crest-highway/ : I complete with the Cajon Pass before coming back to LA area!

It's good to have abstract in your photo sometimes but are you trying to focus on the shrubs or the car?

Haven't posted on here in forever, but kudos to all you guys staying prolific in the automotive world, kinda been missing it lately. I ended up making the switch to architectural/hospatility since hardly anyone in my area wants to pay for a shoot . Anyway, these are some older shots I finally got around to editing.
