Default 2018 White Pearl Sti Type-ra(#406-500)build_thread

My 2018 STi Type-RA (#406-500) Build Thread. I have a tremendous amount of things to add to this but I guess the best spot to begin is the day I picked her up. I got her in Modesto California and live in Colorado Springs so it was a Journey to say the least bringing your home. But it was a great time for me to break in the engine properly. I took week just to get her home, when in the past I have made the trip from Cali to Colorado in less than one day Non-Stop. Here she is the day I got her With 57 Miles on Her.

Thought I would share with you guys my new mods. just got my new COBB Titanium Cat-back Exhaust. I LOVE!! the sound of this thing. Its by far the best sounding exhaust i've ever heard on a STi. The one complaint I have is that it is a tad loud with a Catless downpipe. If I had a Catted Downpipe it would be 100% perfect. I'm going to add a Titanium Vibrant Resonator with a couple Titanium V-Band Clamps. To fix this and the hardly noticeable bit of drone it has being Cattless. Overall I'm loving it!

The Cobb Titanium Cat-back Exhaust looks great, it's the number 1 choice if I decide to upgrade the OEM as it is a bit quiet.

I found a sheet of Carbon Fiber that I bought a wile back. So I also made a couple Carbon Dress-up items for my engine bay. I made a new bracket for my Delicious Flex-Fuel Controller because I hated it on top of my Fuse Box. It was also a great place to mount my Buddy Club Grounding Condenser. I used a couple brackets i found laying around to mount it to the side of my battery. I also made a bracket for my Ethanol Content Sensor.

Awesome looking car! Great build so far, I'm considering the Cobb titanium cat-back myself. I'll be running their catted downpipe vs. catless due to yearly emissions testing in MA. Do you happen to have an exhaust clip?

Thanks Buddy. I live by the motto "Go before Show". so I wanted to have some nice power before doing exterior mods. So thats now the direction I will be heading.

Of course man. Personally, I think the stock RA looks best, or with very subtle mods.

Power wise, you've got a solid selection of parts, well done!

Does the Cobb exhaust drone at all, or is it fairly quiet overall?

I totally agree with you! Most of the exterior mods i've done has been swapping out the stock RA exterior parts with there Carbon Fiber counterpart. Just because I love the looks of the Carbon accents on our CWP paint. I'm Kinda loving the new Carbon S208 Style Front Lip especially.

Thanks about the mods. I've been really happy with my selection of parts so far. With the exception of the Turbosmart Kompact BOV. During one of my Boost leak tests I noticed it was leaking slightly. So I just ordered a Tial QRJ that arrived yesterday. I was a little concerned about fitment issues, but I think it's going to fit just fine. Ill post Pix and an update when the TMIC mounting flange arrives.

As for the COBB Titanium Exhaust and its Drone, It's not bad at all IMO! Compared to the TurboXS RFL I had on my last STi its nonexistent. I do wish it was a tiny bit quieter on cold starts, mostly for my nabors late at night. I absolutely love this exhaust tho, it's worth every penny. Hands down best sounding exhaust on the market.

Before my FP Green install I was making 368WHP / 392TQ @ 6200ft ELV @ 18.5 PSi on the stock turbo. I am still currently working on the tune on the new turbo and I am waiting on my new WALBRO 530LPH Fuel Pump to arrive right now. The AEM 320LPH E85 Pump I had installed had started to fail after only 6 months. So It has not really been safe to do anymore tuning since my AEM Pump was cutting in and out mostly at high RPM. Ill keep you posted.
