Anchor Subaru in RI
So I'm in RI for business for the next little while and figure it's a good time to drop the car off somewhere to get the cold clutch judder thing fixed which I've been having for oh... the past two years. Cuz it's really annoying, and all that shaking can't be good for the car.
I leave my car with Anchor overnight so they can reproduce the clutch judder. I call up about 4 times the next day and no one has looked at it yet. I'm thinking to myself, how hard is it to have some turn the car on and put it in gear?? Plus it's already late in the afternoon and the car is probably warm. Long story short, it took them the whole day to say "Oh, it seems fine, we couldn't find anything wrong." Needless to say I'm never taking it back there again. Anyone know of any dealerships around Providence with service guys who know of the TSB and will take my word for it and just fix it?

i dont think any of them will just take your word and fix it...
for what its worth ive only had good experiences with anchor, in fact i bought my car from them...they are supposed to be the best in RI, but who knows. theres only two other dealerships in RI...bald hill subaru in warwick off of rt 2 and village subaru (i think its village) in north kingstown... for what its worth the NK subaru dealership was really shady... |

I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt too, but I was having some boost problems too (only going to 7psi with an MBC that I've been running at 14psi no problem for the past 2 years with no other changes). And they didn't even know how much boost is supposed to be running on a stock car. They just said the turbo is working fine, probably the gauge is reading low.
I mean come on... you can tell a big difference in performance from 14 to 7 psi. So to me it doesn't even seem they know a whole lot about the car. Anyone have good experiences at Bald Hill? Or know of any good dealers in MA close by to RI? |

Pilgrim Subaru Rte 2 in North Kingston, I have purchased 5 cars from them and had no problems with the service department. Call them and talk to the service manager before you bring it in.

I got my car from Bald Hill, and their service department is the best! I've only had good experiences with them.

Weird all I did was mention the TSB to the service manager and they fixed my wifes car as well as mine with no problems at all.

Exeter Subaru couldn't reproduce the problem, but took my word for it, and fixed it. NH is a little far of a ride, though.

Stay away from anchor and pilgrim....anchor gives me the impression that no one knows what they are talking about and pilgrim subaru likes to fix things that do not need replacing...bald hill subaru is the place to go.
