Default Smell of gas when between 5000-6000 rpm on stock Ď12 wrx

Hello all!

So the title says it all. My car generates a gas small when Iím accelerating quickly. I noticed it on an on ramp today. It smelled like gas after accelerating down the ramp quickly. I believe it happened between 5000-6000rpm but honestly I wasnít able to match up when I smelled it to the rpms. Iím assuming it has something to do with the boost though. Anyways.. any ideas? The car is only at around 52k miles

Smelling gas in the cabin is always a huge red flag -- may indicate a leak. I had the same thing happen on my outback (although with much more mileage than you ~ 340k).

Turns out the fuel filter needed to be replaced, along with one oversized hose.

So just found a small leak. Looks like oil maybe? Itís odorless so I donít think itís gas thatís leaking but I definitely have the gas smell sometimes. Itís weird.

Where exactly was the leak? Near injectors? Under the manifold?
