Given how meticulously formatted your CL ad is, it is surprising you can't follow the basic instructions in the sticky.

You don't even list a price.

And not to nitpick, but I wouldn't classify new brake pads, tires, endlinks, or a new clutch as 'upgrades' on a 14 year old car with 150k miles. They are wear items or maintenance at best. The ad is more off putting than helpful. You have a line item for the mudflaps and the radar detector? Really?

Looks very clean from what you've shown (needs interior and engine bay shots), but I'd really consider a different ad style if I were you.

Thanks for the comments. You are certainly entitled to have your opinion.

The reason I listed some of the above items as upgrades because these cars need quality parts to run and perform well. Just like when you buy a house, each house has a kitchen but there is a world of difference between budget Formica and real cherry mahogany wood finish. Same goes with these cars:

- Nankang tires for $50 vs Michelines for $160 that actually improve handling
- stock like endlinks for $25 vs Hotchkis for $220 that also improve handling
- Luk clutch for $140 vs ACT clutch for $650 that can hold increased power
- PepBoys brakes for $30 vs Hawk for $120 that can control increased power

The mud flaps were not even option for WRX at the time of purchase, RallyArmor is a popular brand that people install aftermarket. List can go on...

If you do not understand/unaware of these differences you just need to do a bit of reading. There is plenty of info... Peace.

Very much enjoyed reading this. Goodluck with the sale, looks very clean. I hope my car only depreciates by around 50 percent in 15 years and 150k miles.

You have not caught a mod bug yet. It's an expensive addiction. Soon you realize that you've spent more $$ on the car vs. its stock book value.

A preferred way of selling such vehicle would be to return it to stock and sell the car and parts separately. On the other hand, 90% of people who buy these cars will mod them again. Thus, I am trying to avoid a trouble of doing a part out and saving new owner time/money related to putting back the same mods on the car.

if the vehicle does not sell with the mods, I have the stock parts and can easily de-tune the car to oem condition. I am in no rush to sell and willing to explore if the vehicle sells as a package.

I invested 9k in this vehicle for mods and upgrades. I can easily get 60-70% return on parts if I sell them separately. Hence, my asking price of average KBB of a stock vehicle plus 65% of the upgrade cost, which only accounts for parts , i.e. labor is free. If you're going to buy stock vehicle and install all these upgrades you are likely to spend even more! Moreover, you may buy a lemon of some sorts. There are plenty of these vehicles that were seriously abused and dumped. In this case you will have complete vehicle history.

The numbers are not set in stone, and I am willing to discuss any reasonable offer. On top of that, I might be willing to remove some mods to sell it cheaper. For ex, I can remove head unit/backup camera and replace it with a stock system, etc.

If you're interested in buying we can talk more in depth, feel free to PM me.

Your ad is well written and the price is not over the top.

Timing belt listed with mileage. This is one of the big 2 huge things that I'd absolutely want to see in a car with 100k miles or more. The other is head gaskets, which I don't see. Have they been changed to MLS?

Although others are whining about brake pads and clutch, I like to see what you replaced wear items with. HPS pads are fine in my book, if you were running HP+, I'd be concerned. Your struts are reasonable and are not the garbage far east coilover junk meant to just lower the car and who cares how it rides. Citing what end links, shifter, clutch you used helps define what kind of parts you used to maintain the car. Personally, I like that you retained the cat and didn't subject the next owner to a possible emissions fail and EPA $10k fine. Although that's very, very unlikely, in my state, they do suddenly enforce EPA laws that no other state enforces.

Lastly, you did not say "Tastefull Modifications" which the whole world reads as "Tasteless Modifications any 15 year old would love".

Good luck with the sale.

Thank you for your feedback, Jack.

The car has original head gaskets. It's ej205 engine which is less prone to hg problem vs ej255/257. I also had compression tested done at the time of spark plugs change, all four cylinders were in spec. Thus, I did not see a reason to replace hg.

Potential buyer gets over $9k in parts for $2900. That's like 70% discount, not counting install labor charges that can add a couple of thousands. Hopefully, someone understands the economy of scale.
No problem. GLWS.
