wondering if 225 45 tires on 17 x 8 wheels with 46mm offset would rub on my 2004 impreza wagon. the wagon is lowered on prodrives on stock struts. my fenders are not rolled.
thanks in advanced.

Here's some info I have. Id suggest rolling the fenders. Id be upset if I was rubbing with 225s. Previous owner fit 245s on 18x8.5s and it looked awesome. I've fit 17x8 46et with 235/45s no rubbing at all. Not agressive enough i want 18x8.5 or 17x9s

I should also mention I will be running just MachV springs(w/saggy butt spacers) and GR-2 struts so the drop wont be much at all.

1) Swift Sport wagon springs, KYB GR2 wagon struts, GroupN top hats, Whiteline front and rear swaybars with Whiteline endlinks, Whiteline rear wagon strut bar
2) Enkei RPF1 17x8 +45 offset
3) Continental Extreme DW 225/45/17
4) No modifications to prevent rubbing!
5) No rubbing!

Finally, after MUCH research, talking to others, decision making, etc... I finally installed everything and was glad to see that everything fit well and how they should be.

Thanks to this thread and others on NASIOC for answering my questions.

Default 2011 WRX Wagon with H&R Sport

I have been using the H&R Sport springs with the Koni Sports without any negative results. The Koni's alone probably would of done the trick but the amount of lowering the H&R's added gives the car a much more aggressive look for sure. If I was to do it over though I would probably skip lowering springs on a WRX, but would highly recommend the Koni's any day of the week. For 600 bucks the Koni's are the best single upgrade that I know of for a WRX. Having the quick and easy adjustability is so nice, from a stock feel to like riding on rails in less than 5 minutes.

Hey guys, I am thinking about lowering my wagon but I am new to this so I figured I would ask before I go and mess up my new baby. I have 215/45/17 tires with Motegi mr118 17in with 45 offset. The suspension is stock right now. I was wondering if I would be alright to put a set of lowering springs on it with out any ill effects. Any help I can get would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Tinywagon, nice write up. I was going to ask if anyone has had good luck with the Swift Sport springs. I just got new Excel-gs and Swift springs, so essentially the same drop/set up. They are going on my 9-2x. How do you like the set up on the street/ daily drive?

I have this setup and it is a great for a daily driver. The springs rates are stiffer than stock but not as stiff as some of the other brands. The replacement KYB struts are slightly stiffer than stock as well. It is not a punishing ride by any means. If you haven't yet, get a rear sway bar to reduce some body roll.

Here's my car on the setup mentioned a few posts up.

Anyone rocking 17x9 +35 with 245/40/17? Not going hella flush. That's the biggest tire size I can use in STU. Im lowered on kw's with a finger gap all around. Not looking to lower anymore. This will be going on a 06 wrx wagon. I know I'll have to roll the fenders. Any other problems I should be running into?

that much tire at that offset will require a pull on a wagon. for sure.

+35 is too low of an offset to fit that much tire. with a +42-45ish you could fit them with aggressive camber an a roll all around.

I recently purchased a 2002 WRX wagon completely stock on continental DWS tires.

I ordered Tokico D spec adjustable Struts and springs and I will be installing them soon.

I was wondering if anyone has used this setup before and I you can please provide some feed back.

Thank you.

I run 235/45/17 on enkei rpf1 17x8 45+ on my 2002 wrx wagon dropped on usdm pink front springs and stock sti take off rear springs. Kyb excel g struts, no fender modifications, no rubbing, alignment is stock except the front camber been 1 degree negative in order to keep the front tire wear good and even.

On my 2005 Saab 92x aero, which is the same as a wrx wagon, hence the saabaru nickname, I also run 235/45/17 continental DWS. Wheels are also 17x8 but 48+ offset oz ultraleggera, usdm wagon specific pinks all around, koni inserts, stock fenders, stock alignment except for the 1 degree negative front camber, no rubbing issues.

Moral of the story is 235 tires will fit a wagon without having to modify fenders as long as the wheel offset is within 45+ to 48+ on a 17x8 wheel.

Do you have pictures? Think of running a similar set up, just swift wagon springs though.
