Question new 04-05 JDM headlights don't work

I had installed a new set of JDM headlight in my STI from Vivid Racing. Model: 84001FE3

When they're plugged in, the High beams turn on and stay on, Low beams don't work, L&R Signals work though.

Is it a Japanese wiring issue or just a bad set?

Gimme a moment when we come back around Carlo, gimme a moment...Help me!

Did you get a harness with them from Vivid and just plug them in with no cutting or splicing? If so, contact Vivid immediately for assistance. And good luck, I hope you read the vendor review thread on them before ordering from them.

First, please fill out your profile so we know what model and year car you have. With that said, I'm going to assume it's an 02-03 WRX. So.....

Did they give you a herness??? Your stock lights only run off two plugs:

High/low beams & Turnsignals

The JDM STi bugeyes have 3 plugs:

High beam (connects with the "fat" stock plug)
Low beam (no stock plug)
Turnsignal ("Skinny plug)

If you have a wiring harness, it's problably just poorly assembled.

He mentioned he has the 04-05 ones.

cryptonix: did you get the HID model or the non-HID model?

If anything, just the original harness that came with your stock headlights.

I've only heard this from the guys at the shop that the lights are all screwed up.

I actually haven't seen the lights yet, not 'til after the weekend. So I really don't know what the wiring harness looks like.

I was hoping that someone else had the same problem with the JDMs

BTW, I bought the non HID...Shame on me, I know.

You cant install a set of WRX headlights in an STi without many modifications. They are not plug and play.

since they're NON-HID, can't you just reuse your stock USDM harness? do the JDM NON-HID headlights not use the same 194/7440/H1/9005 setup as USDM lights?

**EDIT**

oops, i just noticed that you're putting non-HID lights onto your HID car. the wiring isn't PnP. it should be the same as wiring STI HIDs into a WRX, but reversed. there are tons of threads on here that show how to do this.
