This turbo makes 270 to 300whp with good exhaust, Intercooler and intake. If you get higher, Its simply the dyno reading in comparison to another dyno. On 100 octane, I can get an easy 310 to 340whp depending on mods and if I can get the boost up to 25.

After that.. The turbo is done. The great benifit of this turbo is the cost, Its power on pump gas in comparison to the VFs and they spool really fast.

I've been reading up on pre-turbo water injection on some various websites, especially the aquamist forum, where one member in particular has used it with great success. the main benefit seems to be in cases where a particular turbo is really maxed out, because the effects of pre-turbo injection essentially change the compressor map.

i realize there are challenges and difficulties with this...namely proper atomization and compressor erosion. but I can't help but wonder...

has anyone here used this with a maxed out evo3 16g?

and clark, have you tuned any pre turbo water/meth injection setups?

Every once in a while a guy comes to me with the water/meth kit plumbed like that. I never really saw any benifit to it. The spray needs to go to the combustion chambers to be effective.

interesting.

i think the two main benefits, in theory, would be

1) an essentially boost-dependent progressive pumpless system.

2) cooling the actual turbo itself, which is said to affect the compressor map.

yet it is hard to find actually studies where anyone compares pre, post, and both. there are so many variables to consider.

^^i would just like to point out jonpark that if it wasnt for your 2.5L and the fact that you have AEM alcohol injection set at 10psi then my car at 329whp and 311wtq would have you beat, sorry to burst you bubble. i might even come close when i go back to siegel for a retune with my tial 38mm ewg and do a race gas tune

I think you mean you have the highest reading dyno sheet. You are not making the most real hp.

It does not matter who has the most actual power.. Dont you realize that? What matters is what that dyno sheet says.. This is why shops crank the dyno up... It sells parts and makes customers happy!

This is just one of several reasons why I created the Airboy/Trap speed/Weight thread. So that enthusiasts that can't afford to go to a chassis dyno all the time can set a goal, look at the results, and tune away to reach that goal. Help the community...not hurt it...that's my motto.

What would really be cool if we had all of these somewhere handy:

Dynojet/Trap Speed/Weight
Dyno Dynamics/Trap Speed/Weight
Dynapak/Trap Speed/Weight
Mustangdyne/Trap Speed/Weight

Yeah!

Yeah.. I agree.. In my profession its a real bitch.. A guy comes to me expecting 350whp on a STG2 STI that in reality makes 275 on pump gas. Even though his car is running 20 psi, Full timing and perfect AFR, He still thinks he is way down on power

here we go again with the dyno wars.....we do not mess with our dyno so it can read higher ,in fact look around here do a search and you will find that we address this 2 or 3 times before, we even posted a graph from a dyno dynamic that was said to read 50 to 75whp less than ours that go shock at the results we even had people that got tune on mustangs dynos that where told that it will make way more power on our HI reading dyno and got their dreams shoot down, but hey if whatever lest you guys sleep at night is fair game...... RIGHT?
proven results:
415whp goes 11.5@125mph
480whp goes 10.85@130mph

way too much finger racing and not enough actual facts

I don't think anybody said anything about fussing with a dyno to make it read higher....you specifically.

Furthermore, if there aren't enough actual facts, why don't you help out and start posting them. Perhaps create a thread like my Airboy/Trap Speed thread and call it Dynojet/Trap Speed. Yes?
