Default 2013 SWP Sport Limited

Hi, New here, I just took delivery of a SWP Sport Limited with moonroof, aero, sill plates, auto dim w/cmpass, and rear ablique guard. Had no choice on options, car was on dealer lot. Inventory search found only 2 wht spt lmtd with moonroof on whole east coast. NJ and VA. Live in NY.

My story, Had 97 Buick skylark (grandfathers care new) perfect 67k on car used to commute to work. 9/27/12 some J/off smashed into the drivers side and the car had to be totalled out by insurance. They gave me 34oo for a fully paid perfect car that was worth so much more to me. My other cars were a 2010 VW GTI 6spd Autobhn pck and 2012 Wht BOSS 302 Mustang (strictly weekend car). So I could not commute in the VW 6spd nor was I going to use the BOSS, so started to research automatic cars. Came accross the new Impreza due to economy and automatic and AWD as I live in the NE. After long thoughts and research decided on the Impreza, never owned a Subaru before. Like I said could not find a SWP Sport Limited anywhere close to home, but when I found one 2 hours away in NJ said WTH and called to negotiate. After several phone calls negotiated above stated car for 24.2k and they gave me 19k for GTI sight unseen based upon description of the car. I think I got a pretty good deal. Thoughts?

One main thing I wanted to assure car had was SAT radio for commute, and during neg several times was told that car was equipped just needed to subscribe, fine. On the day before traveling to take delivery, Looked on-line (as all would do researching your soon to be new car) and realized that SAT radio not an option w/out NAV, which on the lot car did not have.. so called to verify.. finally night before they confirmed car does not have SAT radio capabilities. I flipped! Solution was they installed an after market SAT radio for free, not ideal but a solution. Why does a 2013 Top of the Line Spt Lmtd not have SAT NAV!!! I had a POS Elantra rental with SAT Radio... I dnt get it???

First Impressions- Car is very tight.. Love the AWD and Interior space.. This car is a little station wagon and not just a HatchBack IMO. The leather is of good quality and the seats are quite comfortable but could use a little more bolstering IMO. The interior materials are def a grade below that of the VW GTI as is the sound system. But overall this is a very solid little station wagon. I read so many reviews about how the CVT is so horrible but I can tell you I actually love it. I find myself driving much more relaxed and driving so much more economically. I have 375 miles (still first tank of gas) and display is showing 30.7 MPG. I was hoping for a better number as I have been following break in procedure and RPM's have not gone above 4k, Hoping next tank will tell a more real world story. Car is very solid on highway and overall this is a surprisingly roomy little wagon. Performance is ehhh, but that was the point... to replace the 6spd for an AWD wagon with good economy and similar refinement.

I dont understand why these cars are so hard to come bye... After reading the 2013 order thread I actually feel lucky that I basically found the car I wanted in such a short time period although I would have liked just the moonroof and factory SAT radio, but overall feel happy with purchase. Only paid about 387 over invoice. As this is my first Subaru.. anything I should be looking out for ??? Hoping this little wagon will fit my needs and perform as well as it has for the my first 2 weeks of ownership. Thanks for your time and good luck to all!

Hey vwgti123.

Just picked up my 2013 Sport Limited a couple weeks ago. This is my 3rd Subaru and I've owned all of them for over 10 years. My wife has a Prius with a CVT and I think the Subaru CVT is a little peppier. I've been suprised on how quick the car will take off and how high it'll rev if you keep your foot in it. I really don't care about Sat radio as I listen to Pandora some, and found that the bluetooth with my iPhone is great, but I'm trying out the flash drive and am still deciding on that. I have over 1000 songs on my phone and usually select something there. My MPG is looking like a little over 30 so far, but I don't even have 600 miles yet and I run very easy. I'm also a truck driver, so I do a little more driving than most and probably judge traffic better than some.

It's too early for you guys to be worrying about MPG. Work the engine at a variety of speeds and loads. Don't stay at one RPM for too long or feather the throttle. A good break-in will last the life of the engine.

If you don't expect to exceed the EPA numbers at speeds over 65mph, and don't think the car is underpowered so you constantly hammer the accelerator, and you don't only drive it in the city doing short drives always starting with a cold engine, you will be seeing higher MPG's in the future after break in.
