Default RMSF 2017- Type RA, 22b, and one sweet Crosstrek

Hey Peeps,

So I havenít been around the past few days, sorry if I didnít get back to your quote requests in a timely manner. I was busy with all the new WRX/STi's showing up a little early all last week. Then I was working the 2017 Rocky Mountain Subaru Fest all day Sunday. I did get to chitchat with a really cool guy from SOA named Bill, he is in charge of all the testing and releasing of production vehicles here in North America. Super cool guy (yet we couldn't talk much on the RA) But I did get wind that all the pictures we have seen of the vehicle is the Prototype RA made from a limited 2018 STi..... so spoiler alert they will not have the HK stereo anyways I havenít gotten any sleep over the past few days (sorry about the lame post) I hope you enjoy the photos!!

How come your boss didn't(or did he) bring his 22B to this event? Would be VERY cool to have the only 2 in the U.S. sitting next to each other for a rare photo.....

if he didn't talk much on the RA, then I doubt they talked much about the ascent either, he is still under a tight NDA until the car is revealed in 2 months.

I don't recall his name, but the rep I spoke with at WBM told me that he and other reps were going to Japan around this time to be briefed on the Ascent, in preparation for it's unveiling...the date of which he would not disclose. He's the same one that confirmed that development of the next WRX/STI is indeed underway, and maybe got a tad miffed when I brought up the issue of turbo engine fitment in the new SGP architecture

Sure you don't want to add your name to the list of sponsors, Heuberger?

Is there anything funny about them having to fly all the way across the world to learn about a car built in America, by Americans, for Americans?

no kidding, you would think the briefing would be held cherry hill, NJ or in Indiana, and the car is revealed in LA only for American buyers. But not matter, Subaru corporation is in japan. On a side note, when will the first ascents that get shown in LA roll of the assembly line in Indiana.

Was the Crosstrek passing through Ontario, CA a few weeks ago? I think I saw it on a long trailer being pulled by a red pickup truck on the 60 freeway.

That's correct, it lives in Ontario on Locust Ct just of the 60 freeway. A couple weeks ago we were doing shock testing up in Barstow.

what is actually "crosstrek" about that? I mean, it's pretty badass, but looks like the only thing it shares with a crosstrek is...

nothing.

I saw it get on the 60 from Vineyard and was hoping to catch a better view. But by the time I was able to get on the freeway it was nowhere to be seen.

By the way, do you have people confuse Ontario with the one in Canada? At trade shows the company I work for is listed to be in Ontario, CA. And more often than not people think we are in Canada

Yes we do... We try to specify Ontario, California now after running into the issue several times.
