Default the topscoob 025 place to be sad :(

Well some of you may have seen my very pink accented Subie around the SubieGirls and ScoobieforBoobies facebook pages this summer due to me representing the site at some of the west coast meets. I managed to get SFB and my car featured on Cars101.com and Because Racecar to help promote cause.

For those of you who don’t know I am Tina. My Subie became solely mine a little over a year ago. She was my ex’s prior.
When we went to the dealer we weren’t intending to buy a car that day. We were simply just looking, no really, only because his Legacy was getting to that point of needing more work than it was worth. Our sales guy was walking us around the lot showing us options in our price range of new cars. We were still undecided of whether we wanted new or used at that point. He saw a bug eye in the to be repaired section of the lot and exclaimed “Oh man I really want one of those!” The sales guy said “Didn’t you see the one up front?? We have a silver one for sale!”

So I test drove it, and we took it home that day. I had never driven a turbo car. This was our first official manual. (not counting my 1974 super beetle) so we had lots to learn about it. She was bone stock.

He was excited to start modifying it and that’s exactly what happened. Exhaust, tint, you name it. I helped here and there when I could. Cause next thing you know I am pregnant, and that soaked up all my time.

Now that my son is older I find it easier to put effort into the car, but no money. Changes will be made soon which is why the vinyl is off. To match the changes in my life there will be changes in my car.

One word that has been recently used to describe my car is “Personalized”. She has Pink painted fog covers, and pink accented trim around the gauge pod and shift trim, to match my theme going with my wheels and engine bay.

Here I will list my mods just because in list form it makes it easier to read.
Engine
• STI up pipe
• COBB Tuning Turboback Exhaust
• Zerosports Radiator Shroud (Powder Coated Pink)
• Samco Turbo Inlet (Pink)
• Flex Innovations Grounding Kit (Hot Pink)

Drivetrain
• Kart Boy Short Throw Shifter
• Kart Boy Shifter bushings

Suspension
• No Brand Front Strut bar (Powder Coated Pink)
• Ebay Rear Strut Tower Bar (Powdercoated Pink)

Exterior
• Rally Armor Urethane Mudflaps (Scoobies for Boobies Edition)

Interior
• Kart Boy Kartboy Shift Knob (Powdercoated pink)

Wheels/Tires
• Prodrive Speedline/Prodrive P7s (powdercoated pink)

Electrical and Lighting
• Ebay Clear Sidemarkers
• Subaru OEM headlights (blacked out)
• ATI Triple Gauge Pod (Pink painted trim piece)
• Subaru OEM 05 STi Center Console Swap (black plasti dip)

Audio/Video/Security
• Boss 10" Powered Underseat Subwoofer
• ALPINE iDA-X305
• Pioneer 6.5 Front door Speakers (Kartboy Speaker Spacers)

I know it's not going to make much of a difference this late in the game. But as I mentioned I took the vinyl off this is how my car looks right now.

And this is what I've done with my interior. 05 STi center console swap. And my gauge pod. With the pink accents. Very subtle. Pod trim is painted, trim ring around shifter is painted kartboy knob is powdercoated.

My life is a little hectic right now so cell pics is all I can do. I don't have Internet access except for my phone.

I wasn't looking to buy a Subaru again when I found mine, and it was far from clean when I bought it, but once I test drove it I decided I had to. My modification choices were pretty basic when I first bought the car, generic window tint and what not. I wasn't planning on modifying it, really.

My dad bought me my exhaust and Accessport for Christmas the first year I had my car. (Yeah, he's great, I know.) The day before I had planned on having some sucker help me install all of it I crashed into a wall going 55. (Utah Winters..) I was bummed, to say the least. I took it as an opportunity to upgrade. I got some fresh paint and a clean front end, and I was set.

I had never modified my car to participate in any sort of motorsport, to say the least. I used to have stretched tires and it was an inch and a half lower than it is right now. And while I'm still not planning on being a racecar driver, I have taken a liking to the open track days at Miller Motorsports Park and I'm hoping to get a few more suspension goodies and try it again.

I always toy with the idea of selling it and getting something new, and it's been posted for sale more times than I care to admit. But I can't seem to part with it yet. And while I keep buying other project cars that I get bored with and put on the back burner, this one seems to always keep my attention.

So, while I may not have a great back story to my car, I still love it. Here it is:

performance:
Invidia catless uppipe
Invidia Catted downpipe
Invidia N1 Cat back
Cobb Accessport
Injen Intake
APS Turbo Inlet [powder coated sparkly black]
Mishimoto Aluminum Radiator

suspension/wheels:
Megan Racing coilovers
Cobb Sway Bars (F&R)
Whiteline Bump Steer Correction Kit
18x10 +35 CCW LM20
255/35 KDW2
17x9 +28 Drag DR31
225/40 Blizzak LM 60

interior:
Kartboy SS
LatheWerks Titanium Sphere shift knob.
Pioneer AVIC-X920BT
05 center console, wrapped in Di-Noc.
JDM STI gauge cluster
Custom white and purple HVAC and Cluster

exterior:
Limited front lip (depending on my mood)
APR front splitter (depending on my mood)
STI Bumper Splitters
S2k Projector retrofitted headlights

My taste in modifications has changed quite a bit, so a lot of things have changed recently. And I'm sure that there is more that I'm forgetting, but that's okay.

Here is my car:

This is an '07 WRX TR....

that I bought in June '10 because I need a practical car that was loads of fun that could be driven in snow. I've always been partial to the Hawkeye so when she popped up as a trade in, I jumped on the chance to finally own one. This is going to be a slow build courtesy of limited funds and other responsibilities but I really love this car. It's my tenth car and so far, my favorite.

The day I found her behind the Subaru dealership she had just been traded in on a '10 STI. She had been returned to stock except for Hellas, Tein H tech springs, a Knock off STI rear strut bar, karboy short shifter, and LGT wheels with some bald arse tires. Luckily, the prior owner treated her well. I haven't had a problem in 30,000 miles since purchase and going stage II within the first 4 months of ownership.

First there was this in June 2010:

Taken the day after I found here

Then there was this in January 2011:

I ride roadbikes so I did use my rack

And now there is this in September 2011:

At the Tail of the Dragon in September. Picture by Killboy:

Current Mods:Performance:
SPT Intake
STI TMIC
Invidia Catless DP
Cobb Catback
Cobb AP w/ Perrin Stage2 map

Suspension:
Tein Htech springs

Exterior:
wingless trunk
WRX side skirts
JNA S-style lip
STI HID Headlights
OEM fogs
'04-05 Tails
'11 WRX wheels w/ Continental DWS 235/45/17
Hella supertones

Interior:
OEM TR badness
Kartboy knob
Kartboy SS w/ front and rear bushings
Dual Gauge bezel w/ Prosport boost guage

Mods waiting to go on:
VF 48
Walbro Fuel pump
Perrin Inlet

Planned mods:
Full '05 WRX interior
Suspension project, I'm currently mapping out what I'm going to do with teh suspension. No Hellaflush stuff. I drive this car like I stole it, make a mess of it in foul weather and hate having to go sideways out of driveways.

This is pretty much how the car is going to stay looking from here out. I don't care if I do a full STI swap with a rotated set up and an FMIC that eats up my bumper, the car will continue to look stockish. I like sleepers. Call it boring but the cops don't bother me. Plus I think the fact that the car is bland with a female driver makes it look even less threatening and less suspicious. I've tried colorful, it was a little too much for me and I don't like my cars standing out this much.

More Dragon fun from Killboy

Okay, I was convinced by another female in my area to enter my car, though I know at least one other in MAIC who might garner more votes than me.

My name's Karen Kraus, and I first competed with Eric Kriemelmeyer's (goes by "Eric" on here) 2.5RS in SCCA's ST (then STS) class at the 2000 Harrisburg ProSolo. I dominated the ladies class, won the ladies challenge, and was told, "You should buy a Subaru!!"

Off an on through 2006, I codrove Subarus with various success, including Billy Brooks's (bbimpreza) 2000 2.5RS in STS, Keith Casey's (KC) STX WRX Wagon, and one off codrives with Tom Hoppe (trhoppe), Joel Fehrman (AUTOwrXER), and some other local guys. Then, in 2007, Justin Rest (mtbgael) offered me a ride in his 2006 WRX... and I took it to the SCCA Nationals and won D Stock Ladies with it. The following year, I finally bought my own 2006 WRX and won the ProSolo L1 Championship with it and finished second in the ladies challenge for the year.

I almost didn't buy my WRX. When I went to look at it, it was supposed to just be silver. Instead, I find a CGM car with painted flames on the hood and a massive stereo system. I thought long and hard about how much I wanted this car... and finally, the fact that ScoobySouth (Bill Cook) had assured me that the car's warranty was still intact (it only had 15K miles when I looked at it) let me cave into buying it.

A year after I bought it, Subaru had dropped it's association with SCCA's Solo program, and there was no more contingency. So, the lure of running the soft DS index in ladies classes at the ProSolos no longer was there, and I talked to the guys at IAG Performance in Westminster, dropped off the car and a copy of the SCCA Solo Street Prepared rules and said, "Do it."

A month later, I had my fledgling ESP beast. By August 2009, I knew it wasn't good enough as it stood, and was already putting more into it just before Nationals. I was able to win the ESP Ladies National Championship that year, but I wanted more. I wanted an open class trophy, if not an open class championship. I would fail miserably in 2010, and for 2011 didn't look like there would be a chance at all.

I didn't think I would even be able to go to Lincoln in 2011, as Nationals were the first week of school, and I'm a high school teacher. After a very successful trip to Packwood, Washington (yes, I drove my ESP prepped car across the country and back!), I tentatively asked my principal for two days off so that I could go out to try, yet, again, for the elusive open class trophy. Only two women have ever won open class championships before 2011, and only a handful more have won trophies in the open classes. For eight years in FS with my Camaros, I'd tried, and finished within a tenth or two of trophies too many times, and last year, I was less than 0.3s out of the trophies in ESP. I was already starting behind the eight ball for this year by running tires from last year's Nationals and only have 3 events in the car in the year since my last trip to Lincoln.

It would prove to be enough. While the first day had me in the last trophy position, with the rest of the WDCR SCCA ESP crowd breathing down my neck, I was able to hang on to that seventh place finish after the second day. I'm not too ashamed to say that I couldn't stop crying after those results were final, as it was something I'd worked so hard to obtain, that it felt better than any of my ladies class championships.

The car is a CGM 2006 WRX, and the mod list is pretty extensive. Over last winter, I was fortunate enough to catch Greg McCance (mccanixx) in a state of temporary insanity as he sold off everything from his car, and obtained his set of the elusive zzyzx coilovers, and the suspension changes from last year have really transformed the car. If you've seen my build thread in the Motorsports area, you know all this pretty well already, but for those who are new :

Well I've done this before and didn't have much of a chance, so why not try again...lol. My name is Billie and I bought my car in '07. I have been in love since I drove it off the lot (besides a few hiccups). I have done mostly everything aesthetic that I want to besides wheels (hyperblack gforces eventually) and put on my front spats. I like to keep it tasteful and clean and I hope y'all enjoy my share.

Little mods I have:

Powah!

Perrin Short Ram Intake
Perrin TMIC
Perrin BOV
Cobb AP Tuned by Agile Auto (280whp/325wtq, 19psi)
Vibrant Performance custom exhaust
Converted dual mufflers to single straight pipe from the DP back
Invidia Catless Downpipe
BC Racing Coilovers
VF52
'08 STI FP
FSTB
DBA Rotors

Just for looks

V-limited Front Lip
Rear spats
Debadged
Cleared and Blacked out '05 Headlights with 6,000k HIDS
Painted the grille black
20% Tint All Around
Red Calipers
Painted stock wheels Duplicolor Graphite
Prosport electronic boost gauge
Hella Supertones
DressUpBolts engine dress up kit
Shiftie's shift knob cover
12" Kenwood Sub

Excuse the Burger King sign...lol

This is my hubby driving...but I love it...lol. I wanted to catch it on video : )

My 2006 Subaru Impreza WRX TR; Abbigale.

On September 19th, 2006 my intention was not to buy a Subaru at all. I originally ordered a 2006 VW GTI and went to pick it up that evening. When I got to the dealership, I had a huge change of heart. This wasn't what I wanted. Luckily, there was a Subaru dealership right next door to Volkswagen. I got there and the choices were pretty limited.. World Rally Blue or Obsidian Black Pearl. I refuse to own a black car so, the choice was easy. I went on a brief test drive in the pouring rain @ 9:00pm & I was set. This was exactly what I wanted.

This wasn't my first experience with Subaru though. My brother had a heavily modded bugeye back in 2002. I fell in love with the boxer rumble at the young age of 13 My mother also had an 06 WRX for a short period of time before I had purchased mine. As you can see, I come from a family of car enthusiasts which makes owning this car so much better. My dad is also a mechanic and a manager of an autobody shop that my uncle owns. I consider myself very lucky to have the support of my family when it comes to my car. [ & It's always a plus to get car parts for birthdays & holidays!]

Abbigale didn't stay stock for long... I got bitten by the mod bug very early on in my ownership. I've continued to add things here and there throughout the years, but honestly I haven't done anything crazy. She functions as my daily driver & grocery getter.. but I had the chance to see what she can do on the track. I did my first [and only] autocross November 1st, 2008. I came in first place for my class ESPL [I was the only person in my class... but hey, who's counting?!] and I also managed to shave off 10 seconds between my 1st & last run. I had a great time doing it and I would definitely like to participate in an autocross again sometime soon. A few years later on May 21st, 2010 I took Abbigale to the drag strip for the first time. I've never drag raced before and didn't want to blow up my car so I decided not to launch... I ended up running a 14.5 @ 95 MPH/2.12 60' & .069 r/t. Not bad for having no experience!

So, all in all I love my Subaru. My car, as well as the Subaru community has been a huge part of my life the past 5 years and I'm very lucky to have met a lot of great people both local & on the forums.

Enough with the rambling though, & on to the good stuff.

Wow there are some great entries! Way to show your subie women power!

My flamingo wagon:
My name is Brandy and I live in tge beautiful pacific northwest! Portland, Oregon to be exact.
My Fiance and I started dating in high school back in 2006 the same year he got his car. (Which was one of the reasons why I was attracted to him.) He got me hooked on Subies. He use to own a 06 WRB WRX that was build. Actually our first date was to get his first oil change in it. Together we spent most of are hard earned paychecks modding it. After dating him for 3 years and many road trips and countless drives including one across country, I decided to say bye bye to my 2001 Forester and Hello to my 2004 wagon. Even before owning my car I was very active in the subaru community. We attempted to attend any meets possible including driving 300 miles to them. I love meeting new people and wouldnt trade any of my experiences along the way for anything. Since owning my car I have never looked back and wished I hadn't bought it.
I love my wagon. It might not be as nice or unique as other wagons, but I don't mind because it is MY car. In my car I have 2 pink flamingos. One my grandmother (whom passed away from breast cancer and loved flamingos) gave me when I was younger and another that reminds me of her hanging from my mirror. I think she honestly looks after me when I drive because I have been in some tough spots, and been able to get out of them thanks to my car. I bought my car from a fellow nasioc member by the name of Kelly. I have him really to think for all the work that has been done to it.
To today I still attend monthly Surgeline meets to help support my local performance shop, and meet other fellow subaru lovers.
My favorite part about owning my car is the reaction you get from other male subaru owners who just met you, and I think it is funny when they can't believe a girl can not only drive a stick, but have a subaru that at times is faster than theirs.

Enough of the stories on to the mods:
Engine:

Blouch 18g
Stock modded injectors flow matched to <2%
k&n typhoon
Gimmick motorsports inlet
Big TMIC
Greddy Evo Catback

Exterior/interior

17" Rota Grids w/1500mi old Hankook ventus revo
Eibach prokit springs
Perrin Rear endlinks and swaybar.
STI splitters
STI scoop
STI Grill
Lightwerkz TSX retrofit headlights (which I lovve and have had many offers on)
Rear Aprons

My 2 corgis are my co-pilots

May the best girl win

tunergirl - Can we see some unphotoshopped pictures? There is wayyyy too much touchup in those pictures. Car looks GREAT as I love a great Forester. But I wanna see some raw photos.

Right now my vote is between Katie and Tunergirl.

I'm sure she will post more once the poll is open.

Thank you very much. The competition looks fierce but I'm hoping the Forester will pull through!

This is one of the coolest things I have ever read. My pops can't understand why I'd want to spend money on my car at all.

Very nice submissions from the ladies so far. Keep it up!!!!

my vote is between katie and kristina... because their names start with a K.

jk! great looking cars!

I don't know what it is about the rota grids that turns me on so much... i think they're what I'll get for summer wheels unless i can afford VOLK TE37s in the next couple years... sexy wheels!

and Pam, your fozzy looks good too, even though I'm not the biggest fozzy fan... post some non-shopped pics when you can.

Rig shots are hardly photoshopped. The shutter speed with the car moving causes the effect and the rig itself is just photoshopped out. The lighting on the car is done with remote strobe lights.

The photos of that forester are not photoshopped as much as you think. The photographer uses the actual camera and lighting for effects compared to other pictures on the internet. That is how you can tell a photographer knows what they are doing.

In the Fall of '05 my car was hit by someone DUI and it was deemed a total loss. I knew I wanted something M/T and something that was fun and fit my personality. When I looked at the reliability and AWD of the Subaru and learned about a turbo charged option with a boxer rumble there was no question on what I would pick up. Within days I bought my wrx from an ex by threatening to buy the '02 stage 3 he had his eye on. When I bought Wrex (he came with that name) he had a STi hood scoop and a set of Megan Racing coilovers that I spent a winter on and then had removed so that I could start from scratch and do it my way.

In search of knowledge, I went to NASIOC/NESIC. Once I started to meet other enthusiasts, I realized that there were other women who were interested in their Subarus too.

The NESIC thread "Calling All Ladies and Lady Lovers" was the beginning of what is now SubieGirls.com. It was quite a process - but the official site and forum launched in June of 2009. We currently have over 1,000 forum members and not only have we spanned coast to coast/Canada - we have reached women in Puerto Rico, Germany, Australia and Japan.

In 2008, I founded Scoobies For Boobies (SFB) with the help of some lovely ladies and gents. Since the start, our efforts have been joined by some wonderful companies, groups and enthusiasts and we have raised over $30,000 to date. We are so excited about SFB and Top Scoob joining forces to raise awareness in the community and to name the first ever all female Top Scoob.

Like most modified cars, Wrex and I have had ups and downs and our 'relationship' has had its share of blood, sweat and tears. Wrex has not been worked on by a dealership since his powertrain warranty expired. With the help of some amazing/talented friends, I have learned to do preventative maintenance, regular maintenance and more intensive work like swapping a transmission (yay blown bearings ).

Wrex has been a daily driver since day one, but as of spring this year I added track duty. Since the first time out in May, my focus has been keeping him in shape for the next HPDE.

On top of SubieGirls, Scoobies for Boobies and the track keeping me busy, I have been fortunate to find the time to work with the SubieEvents team for Wicked Big Meet and Subiefest - events that host thousands of enthusiasts at a time for the common love of Subaru.

I have made great friends, acquaintances and business/industry relationships around the country because of my Subaru, gifts of torque wrenches and socket sets have almost brought me to tears of joy and nothing beats prepping for the track by getting greasy and then relaxing with a mani/pedi. It's funny how something as normal as a needing a new car changed my life in ways I would have never imagined.

Six years ago, I was working part time and going to school full time. This is when Subaru crash landed into my life by way of my now husband, Adam. Adam had (still has) a 2004 red WRX wagon. I never was the type of girl to judge a guy on his car, but Adam's car looked really different--in a good way of course.
That summer, Adam and I spent every second together. I also thoroughly enjoyed the rides in the fast little red stick shift wagon. When Adam returned to college, I got to visit him a few times. He would give me rides around town and one time he merged on the highway and showed me what his wagon could do. I was sold. I loved that car!
In spring of 2005, I was taking a documentary photography class. We had to submit a proposal for our documentary photography project. When my teacher turned to me and asked what the theme of my project would be, I quickly responded, "The car club! They are Subaru owners and I want to document them!" At this point, I still didn't know much more about Subaru or the car club, but I wanted to find out. Adam attended various Subaru car clubs in the DC/Virginia area and I wanted to go and see what they were about.
The first car club meet I attended was for DCAWD in Springfield, VA. They had lots of WRXs and STIs. I was super nervous, but the guys were thrilled that someone outside the club was as interested in them and their cars as they were. I attended several local meets and snapped hundreds of images. By the end of the year, I was able to display my Subaru images in one of the University's galleries. I was so proud.
During the Spring and Summer of 2005, I learned more about cars, in particular, WRXs and STIs. I wanted a 2005 White STI with the WRX wing so badly. I kept that in the back of my mind for years to come.

In October 2009, Sno Kone came into my life. Sno Kone is a 2010 Pearl White WRX hatch. I was working a better job and finally could afford to buy my very first car. It took me a while to find the car I wanted in the exact color I wanted. As I mentioned earlier, I wanted a 2005 White STI, well that didn't happen simply because I wanted a new car, fresh off the lot. I looked at various local dealerships and the white 2010 hatches were flying off the lots before I could even say WRX. Finally, I found what I was looking for at a dealership that was about an hour and twenty minutes away. When Saturday finally came, we happily drove up to Annapolis Maryland to pick up Sno Kone.
Since then, I have done mainly exterior moifications to my car. I don't race her at all, she is my "look pretty, go fast" car. I had plans to do engine and suspension mods but I quit my job last year to start my own business and since then all of my fund have been re-directed. I love driving my car. Since I am a wedding photographer, she makes a great conversation starter during the groomsmen portraits
