A Toyota dealerships ~1995 2-seater Tacoma (this was 2012). Dad and I took it out for a test drive without the salesman and traded seats in a nearby parking lot.

The vehicle that I got good at using stick in is my 2003 Civic Si. Weird dash shifter but an amazing feeling transmission compared to the yota boxes I have operated.

1988 F150 with the 300 six and the heavy duty package. It towed my race car for years after, until the harness gave up its pixies. Donated it to my mechanical family and moved to CA.

first car learned on was a modded 86 mustang gt that was a friends. that car was fast! first car i owned that was stick was a new 2000 civic si. with the torqueless wonder of a b16 engine that revs to 8200! that car was a blast but dead on the low end. my wrx is the car ive owned the longest that is stick. im going on 10 years. i have a 14 legacy i daily so the wrx doesnt really see many miles anymore but nice days and weekends.

i was 18, learned in my friends jeep wrangler, no idea what year it was, definitely not older than late 90s. i then bought a 2004 civic si right as i turned 19 and quickly realized that not every car was the same... damn was that car hard to drive, 11 years and i never felt like i mastered it. i sold that civic a couple years ago and leased my current car, a 2013 g37x, a great car but i want a manual again. so im getting a 2018 wrx later this year.

1990 Saturn SL Base model AKA Tupperware on wheels.

It was the eventual realization that "hey this car handles like complete a$$" that made me want to get into nicer handling cars and eventually subarus.

Learned on a 84 5 series that my uncle had (probably the most fun car Iíve ever driven), went several years of owning automatics, then got a civic and had to reteach myself on the drive home. Then more automatics, now my wrx. Figure I might as well enjoy manually shifting in traffic before I get too old
