![]() lol I knew that was coming. These go up the sides a little more than an inch which is perfect for me. Still easy enough to quickly yank out at the spray wash without fear of accidentally spilling a half gallon of brine into foot well if it snags something. But for sure just about any aftermarket “liner” would crush it in terms of coverage.

![]() I still have my 2017 STI mats, unused, as I had Weathertech's since day 1.
I have some Husky brand on my SUV and those just dont fit as nice. Very durable though |

I found those Tuxmat ones from the Golf R forums and have never looked back. Not only do they look nicer than any other mat, but they're really easy to clean because they don't have super deep crevices, and they'll hold a ton of liquid water if/when you need them to. |

![]() Yeah OEM mats in my Subies have been kinda floppy. I had Weathertech in my BRZ. Loved them, especially after I spilled an entire pitcher of tea in the passenger mat during a transport fail.
![]() Regardless, maybe I'll try out the Tuxmats. Thanks, deedubyaeff. |

![]() Off topic for the thread, but steam cleaners (actual steam cleaners and not the hot water carpet cleaners) do an awesome job of getting rid of salt stains on car carpets.
For example, https://www.amazon.ca/Multipurpose-C...7K3/ref=sr_1_8 |

![]() Each US Toyota dealer will receive 1 GRC. (2022 production). After that, a la 2023, it will be allocation based with 50% being based on total sales, and 50% being based on GR86 sales.

I think 2023 is likely to be a full blown recession, or worse, together with stock market down another 30%. So it's possible a lot of orders will be withdrawn. Then again Biden's pre-election attack on the Chinese chip market could cause another chip shortage. |

![]() Anyone know of a dealer in CA, UT, CO, NM, AZ or NV taking reservations?
I can’t seem to get local dealers to talk to me about it and when they do, they don’t do waiting lists. I don’t mind driving. |

I’d hold tight. The first wave of pretenders have fallen off when it wasn’t priced like a WRX. The 2nd wave will fall off when rubber hits the road time. If you aren’t super picky about options or color, they will be available. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

![]() Yeah, I'm not terribly picky. I'd just prefer a Core, color and options are unimportant. It doesn't sound like there's many options to be had on the Core anyway.

If you haven't had a deposit in at a MSRP only dealer for 6 months, it's going to be very difficult to acquire and very difficult to get MSRP. Well into 2024 things will start to chill out some. So it's going to be a while. You can look on the GRC forum for MSRP dealers (or on the BRZ forum) and call each in your geo but if they are even taking deposits the lists are gonna be stacked already. Most dealers are doing the CTR thing and asking for 5k, 7k, 15k, etc ADM. It's ridiculous. CTR pricing released already and they've been holding a bunch of them at port. From what I read today, Honda dealers asking 10-15k ADM. F'in dealer scum. But it's buyers who are responsible for this bs. If people would refuse to pay it nobody would have to. Supra premium is like 55k. Last M2C was 60k. Now stealers want 60k for a FWD Civic? 50k for a Corolla? Tired of it. |

![]() I mean, that’s not many options to me when you can get 200 something options on a Mustang or a Corvette. I’m not talking about the accessories like first aid kits or all weather mats.
I found a dealer that’s willing to play ball. I expect to be thoroughly amused when I go in there on Saturday and they want me to put a deposit down on a car with a $10k markup. This is going to be a third car for us so I’m not in any hurry to pull the trigger. If I have to wait until 2024, so be it. |

I want a GR corolla as a daily, but I'd prefer my IS350 for bad weather & a vintage for a daily. Note, my driving is ~10 miles a day at this point, so I understand if that isn't your bag. (Shop that has my 66 is.... taking a while... to procure parts/make room in a bay; might have to pull it before it gets "legal" when the pending 2023 recession hits, they are busy though so I'm playing it by ear/watching movement/traffic at the shop before I make a decision, don't want my car to be tied up in litigation while a different shop might be able to finish it for me). |

Yeah don’t be surprised with it if they pull ADM. I’d still be cordial with them and say you’d be happy to put 1k down as a deposit but you must have it in writing that it’s MSRP only with no add ons and you can wait until 2024. People who are sensible, and patient will get one, and get it at MSRP. The first model year is going to be a complete clusterF and I predicted that last year. They are going to make a CE equivalent every year, the Morizo every year so it’s just like anything like this in the past. Those who have to have it first will pay the most. The patient, will get one and get one at MSRP. Aftermarket options, part choice, the G16 tuning being figured out to a Tee with something other than Syvecs (5k+, IE $$$$$$$$$$), all that will be +18 months anyhow. Then you have potential first year issues anyways. The slow blade penetrates the shield. Sit on the sidelines and watch all the suckers pay through the nose. I did this with the RS, it was no cost to me to wait and I ended up getting a sweet deal on one, with little effort and little haggling. I plan on turning down every car offered the first year unless it’s exactly what I want. |

![]() Yeah, that's why I had to qualify it with my 10mi daily driving, none of that is highway so this situation works for me, and I've always got the Lexus for when my aching back needs seat heaters & adjustable lumbar. Granted I also used to daily a sportsbike rain or shine 8-9 months out of the year and my commute was 30-40minutes back then... back then was also ~9 years ago, I wouldn't want to go back to commuting, let alone on a sportsbike with all of the inattentive drivers on the road today, not saying there weren't any then, but there are more now and their vehicles are even bigger & heavier.

![]() If you never stop saying a recession is right around the corner you will eventually be right.
I think the CTR's high MSRP will increase GRC demand a little. It has for me anyhow. CTR is finally off the table. I was working myself there and that helped seal the deal. Funny though, I'm still not sure I can justify $40k for the Corolla so.. I left my deposit with the Honda guy for now. Just in case they get a boost blue Civic sport touring hatch ... which can now be had with 6MT!! That gets me most of what I wanted out of the Type R funny enough, plus I can get a hitch on it. The GRC's biggest draw for me at this point is the engine and the noise it makes. I expect allocations to start rolling in about this time next week so the time to decide draws near. |
