Default Closing the STi forum is a good thing.

I have to say that at first I didn't see the point of closing the STi Information Forum. After a few days of having all of the threads here moved to the other forums I can see that there has been much greater participation from other NASIOC members in threads regarding the STi then ever before and their input and advice was unforunately lacking from the STi Information Forum.

I would occasionally browse the other forums on NASIOC before, but now I allways look through all of the forums and the experience of surfing this website has gotten surprisingly much better. This change is working great. If you have a question about DCCD, just post in the Tranny Forum, or if it's about wheels, you know where. There's an Impreza 02+ forums for other threads and a 2.5L engine forum for those questions. Have a question about the Brembos? Just post in the brakes section. I actually like the way discussions are separated into similar categories.

People have been protesting this change. I kept silent because I wanted to give it a try before passing judgement on this decision. Having the company of everyone on these forums reading our threads, instead of just mostly STi owners can only be a good thing. After all this is NASIOC.

OK, busted. I knew that, what with the subject title and all. I was being slightly sarcastic, but in a nice way

I bet the reason for closing the STI forum because Paul Hensen is tired of answering all the STI noobie questions..

Hey Zoso !

Now there is all this input from non-STi owners you say ?

That's just what I want, man -- people who have absolutely NO
experience with my car telling me about it, how to modify it, or
how to repair it

Some people just don't get it......

Good lord. Imagine getting valid Subaru advice from a non-STi owner.

Yes, like you. There are people on these forums who don't own STi's who will forget more about them today than you will ever learn. Your attitude is a perfect example of why this transition is so much harder than it has to be, and a perfect example of a person who has a great deal to gain by reading the rest of this site.

And [warning-shameless plug ahead] One of the people who has forgotten more about the Impreza than most mortals will ever know, is North Ursalia.

What I miss about the unorganized STi forum was the ability to catch trends.

Since ALL posts went into a big pit, you could see what was catching the attention of people involved with the STi. Now, for me to catch a trend about say... an electrical problem with the 04STi, I have to be visiting the electrical forum every day, which I do not do.

I have to visit multiple forums to get the same information, so this board is now much less useful to me.

More organized.... less useful.
