I'm new here, so be gentle with me...
I recently acquired an 02 wrx wagon with a fair amount of body work to be done. My question is: I have a rust spot/dent in my rear door, the weird thing is that it is right on the bevel in the door, and it is popped out instead of dented in. The issue is that I don't know how to shape it back to how it should be, because of the small space between the two parts inside the door... I could maybe do it if I had someone to hold the dolly while I re form it from the outside with the hammer, but I would like to be able to do it on my own. I'm quite novice when it comes to body work, so sorry if it's a dumb question. |

Hey folks, my roof on my 02 WRX has light hail and severe sun damage. All the body shops in town want 1200 to smooth out the damn thing. So I'm thinking screw it I've never really tinkered with body work but for 1200 bucks I'm sure I can pick up all of the tools and supplies necessary. So first things first what brand and type body filler should I be using on the the roof? I've heard really good things about Eastwood's line of products. It is a flexible part of the car so as far as I know that effects the product choice greatly.
Next what paint have you guys had success with? It's an 02 WRX in WRB so I want it too look pretty close. Any insight is greatly appreciated! |

Before sanding and adding filler, you could try a little pdr work. Just drop the headliner and massage the accessible dents out with the handle end of a screw driver.
If you still end up needing to use filler, most parts stores will have a "small dent and scratch repair" kit by bondo. Has enough filler and glaze to cover up what you'd probably need to. Now if you don't have any experience with a paint gun, Grimmspeed sells wrb in a can that matches really damn well that I've used for touch ups on cars before. |

If you can find USC filler, that's what I've used on all of my previous cars ( I do classics also. ) and I highly recommend it. Bondo brand stuff is kinda crap in the long run, unless you use their nicer professional gold stuff.
