NAPA Now Carries Cabin Air Filters for 02-07 Impeza
Yes, I know this the OT and not about Subarus, but nobody reads the maintenance forum and most people outside of OT only care about modifying their cars for mad tyte performance, bro.
I looked all over the place for a replacement cabin air filter for my Impreza, the only place (other than online) that I found was NAPA Auto Parts. Part number is FIL4485. I changed mine after a couple years and it had a lot of "stuff" in it. http://www.napaonline.com/masterpage...bin+Air+Filter ibotisnotgeneralstrash

I believe a lot of people don't open the windows when its 20* out and they're going 70 on the highway, so it may be useful

that's the cheapest that i could find, other than buying a home A/C filter and cutting it to size.

Now post the instructions for getting at the filter, and I'll give you a gold star.

I usually do twice a year. DC is a dirty place and living in the country doesn't help either. I saw one once that was in a car for 60k miles, it was black and full of all kinds of junk.
I am pretty sure they make a big difference, but YMMV. |

Okay, now it all comes together. I'm going to give this a try if I can find a NAPA around (or the same part at Murray's or something)

There are like 9-10 screws that you have to take our. Most of them are located in the top part of glovebox trim when you open it. Only 2 screws are located in the bottom of the trim piece/glovebox. I just took out all the screws that looked the same in that general area. Also take out the plastic pin on the dashboard trim that's facing the door when it is closed. There are |

from my limited research, the filter was optional in 02/03.
