I'm saying that picture has been around since at least 2009, so I doubt your coworker took it.

I don't have any pics of one of my stories, but when I was in the Marines I worked in a shop where other shops would send engines, transmissions, etc to be rebuilt. I went to grab a transmission that just came in(while in Iraq) to tear it down, and the problem listed on the tag was "Truck fell in river". Sure enough, took the pan off and the inside was the color of strawberry milk.

I've had two vehicles in the last few days with no start issues that stemmed from horrible corrosion on the battery |

I have an aunt that refuses to take care of any kind of maintenance on her car. My uncle has to keep up on all of it. She won't even put gas in it. She will drive it dry and won't take it to the gas station.

^This.
People should have to pass an automotive aptitude test to get their license, that includes maintenance to keep these jackholes from putting themselves in dangerous situations. Don't wanna do the simple things? Ride a bike or take the bus. |

When I worked for Nissan as a service advisor, I had someone come in in an Armada that really erked me. She had bought it new, it now had 30k miles and needed some normal preventative maintenance. Long story short, she told me she couldn't afford it. I asked her why she spend 40 grand on a brand new vehicle and won't even do basic maintenance to keep it going? What is the point? A well maintained vehicle makes it reliable, no matter how new or old... I just don't get it. People that buy brand new cars and don't take care of them (wash, vac, change the oil....) really makes me crazy.
I bought an 05 buick minivan at auction (it runs) for less than $1000 with less than 100k miles. No one wanted to spend more than that for a vehicle that books for 8 grand because it was so badly trashed. Not the body, mechanically ignored and absolutely trashed interior. Its a one owner van. Bought new for 25k and reduced to under a grand in only 7 years due to a negligent owner... Why not buy something used for a lot less money if all you are going to do is trash it and destroy the resale value? |

Had one a while ago.
My buddy had a eagle talon that he recently bought with a "rebuild engine" only 600mi on it since. Well he owned it for about 3 days before it quit running. He called me and said it made a whirring noise when he tried to start it but the engine wasn't turning over. I went to check it out and saw his timing belt exposed he bought it like that so I immediately saw the belt wasn't moving when he turned it over. I pulled the bottom cover and the crank pully had rubbed the teeth off the belt. After we took the head off, suspecting bent valves, and sent it in to have it reworked. He got a phone call saying that one of the bolts that holds the exhaust cam looked like it was glued back together with jb weld! wft? I was amazed it made it 10 miles like that. He said he's not going car shopping without me anymore lol |

@Jdub
It took me a few minutes to find the hood release on an 06 Mini Cooper when I was going to work on it. Turned out it was in the passenger footwell somewhat next to where the passengers right foot would be. |
