Zeal coilovers and ride height questions... Myles?
I am considering getting the Zeal suspension, either V6 or S6. The endless site is nice, but lacks the comparison data that I'm looking for, so I have a few questions...
I know the S6 is aluminum in construction, what about the V6? racecomp says alu, but endless says steel?? I'm gusssing that the S6 is better than the V6 given the price, but endless says the S6 is just the alu version of the B6, and they also put the V6 in front of the S6 in their lineup? Also, I really like my ground clearance right now, and don't really want to lower the car too much, how effective is the suspension at roughly stock ride height levels? if the highest ride height is lower than stock, then the highest rh level? Next, what's the difference between the BASIC spring and the SWIFT spring which is an option on the V6 and standard on the S6?? they're both linear springs with the same rate right? Lastly, I am located in Pasadena, and once in a while encounter crappy roads. how is the street and hard spring rates in comparison to the stock STi rates? Thanks.

The S6 is NOT suggested for the street AT ALL. The V6 works well on the street and track. Ride height front 14.0 AND 13.5 WORKS well for staying near stock . The Swift spring option is no longer available, as they have introduced the X coils which are better than the Swift option and now comes standard on the V6 and B6.
Alot of our ZEAL customers ( do a search for feedback and you will see MANY post on how well these work on the street in both hard and soft options) love the soft rates and feel its a great compromise for the street and track. These units work well at stock ride height levels. There are alot of adjust ment options with camber and height etc. Let us know if you have any questions. We have sold most of the ZEALS in the US in the past 14 months. Myles Williams General Manager Racecomp Engineering LLC. www.racecompengineering.com 410-730-7223 |
