yeah, the shaved population is small but even some rotated folks with larger setups or custom piping can't access those points so they mount to the dogbone. i'm not looking for my own application to be made, but to be able to adapt whatever you make to my build. if that largest population and market happens not to work for me, then i understand and support it nonetheless. you're stuff is great!

it's mounted with a simple bracket -

+1 to being able to mount it somewhere other than the manifold. i need one of these now since i switched to a rotated kit and reverse manifold. maybe it can have multiple mounting options?

I'm going rotated very soon with a kit that puts the turbo fairly high up so this would be perfect for me!! Count me in

Monkiboy has it about spot on. The Crawford expansion tank is very nice but at a price point that is way beyond what is acceptable for a mass produced product. A dog bone mounted cylinder would be ideal.

I would be interested in a shaved manifold option... but it would all depend on pricing :-)

Not all rotated kits are the same, some hug the intake more than others. The Moroso unit is similar in size to OEM so some rotated kits will not play well with that unit. Physically ours will be smaller and have NPT ports vs weld-in barbs like the theirs. The NPT ports give the versatility of using bung adapters for OEM type plumbing installs, or the ability to use AN fittings which are more popular among high dollar and track builds. So as your project matures over time our piece can grow with your setup. Swapping to AN fittings is easy and plugging a port you can use a REAL metal plug not a rubber cap that will eventually fail at the worst possible moment (if you have my kind of luck).

Function wise our setup will use an OEM cap. Theirs uses a radiator cap, which actually does not allow the system to operate as it should The other problem is the filler neck is a generic (I think Chevy) version so a Suby cap will not work properly if you swap them. If they could use an OEM cap, the function is very similar, it's a highpoint filler. The purpose is to circulate coolant to the proper circuits and catch any air trapped in the system. On our setup the ports entering will be similar to a swirl pot to help pull air from the coolant, but it's highly unlikely that will add up to a hill of beans, it's just kinda neat

So subaru doesn't use a standard filler neck?

No.

We actually reverse engineered the OEM filler so it works with the OEM caps, since the caps are very specific to the Suby turbo setup and cooling circuits.

We did not find any supplier for OEM filler necks so ours will be made from solid billet aluminum, not cast like the common weld-on filler necks.

Ok so right now i should be looking for a different cap ? To match the stock pressure for the subaru cap?.... regardless of this I think I would still be interested in tbis new unit a smaller one I thi k would look better

It's not just the pressure, but the way it works. I don't know if anyone makes an aftermarket version that would fit the "universal" filler neck that Moroso uses.

I'd be interested in a stock location one that is smaller than OEM.

Rather not relocate it to another position so I don't have to run longer hoses. The hard line that pops up between the intake runners is in a perfect position imo.

The lines that run to the overflow/rad are also kept shorter too.

Could have 2 versions... like what crawford does. FMIC and TMIC versions for their AOS. Make one for the stock location crowd and another version for the guys who want a firewall mount or fender mount. Price difference would just be the extra hose needed?

And an extra side note if you have time. I just thought about it - maybe design a new AOS if there's a market for it. Similar to the crawford one but maybe one that has an extra stage of baffling. The high boost guys or guys who run at the track (road course) a lot are still noticing oil coming out of the breather hose. Oil will definitely still go into the intake if you have that hooked up the intake on a large turbo. Just thought it could be revised even more if you know what I mean.

I'd likely be interested in one, a feature that would draw me in is instead of the nipples that the factor one has, maybe threaded holes to put either an or barbed fittings on

I did mention that to a friend who thinks using dual high pressure caps is better. The oem system is designed to flow in ways that if you use an equally or higher kpascal in the expansion tank that liquid might not cool the turbo in time nor the next in order engine parts. Now I have the proof. Thanx Chris.
