So I am in a bit of a situation, I have a 2002 WRX wagon and it needs a bit of a tune-up and a brake change. I am planning on moving to Utah for college this summer and want to make sure my car is in tip-top shape. I used to go to TD garage in Berkely but now their website does not work and it says they are permanently closed, is this true? Second, off I have tried Marin Askims but they said they will not work on STI's or WRX's. I am in a bit of a pickle now and I could really use some recommendations, I really like the car and want to make sure it keeps running smoothly. Btw, I would try and do my own work but since I am still in community college and have not yet been able to move off on my own I don't exactly have space to lift it up and work on it. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

I have used speed element in San jose a few times, no issues or complaints with them, and will use them again.

Give https://www.pmautoworks.com/ a call if you haven't found any place closer. I've had an oil change and inspection and the seems very knowledgable and gave a list of repairs including helping isolate a clicking sound to the front center diff.
I've thought of using http://408garage.com/ for some DIY since they rent their space to do some work. Haven't made the leap yet. |

I am in the same boat - I used to go to TD Garage for all my needs. Then I needed some engine work right when TD Garage closed, so I went to GST. Mike did full rebuild for me. While I was breaking in the engine, GST closed down. So, now I have an STI that has a break in tune and needs post break in inspection / oil change / etc and I am not sure where to go at all.
I heard good things about RBMS, but they don't do any tuning. I was thinking of using them for the mechanical stuff, but figured I would ask here first in case there is a shop closer to Berkeley. But sounds like there is none. Any suggestions? M45 for tuning? Works at the Sonoma Raceway? |
