Default parts vs. coilcovers for legacy sedan setup

If I do not go with the whole coilcover setup, will I not have to get springs, shocks, and...?
Then have a Mechanic put all this on, due to lack of tools?
I just think I would do better with a Tein S-tech (these are Eibach right?)soft springs. KYB/AGX struts setup. I only want to drop the car like a inch and use it for daily driver with some on-road racing.
Found this setup on another guys car, sounds fine.

Sounds cool, except for the mechanic and $$$ part. Why don't you post on your regional forum, as well as here, what/when and most important where? you want to do the swap. Lots of experience on these boards, and willingness to help. You may well find some folks in your area willing to help you out for small(BBQ and/or beer?) compensation, and meet some new friends to boot.
For struts and springs there should be no other parts required, save for an alignment, and brake-bleed if you open the lines, asap after you finish it up. Did mine alone, with no prior experience doing struts/spring compressor stuff. Verrrry happy with the results!! http://home.earthlink.net/~nuburu2/
If you're in my area I'd be willing to help.

Default Thoughts

A common method is this.
Get the KYB/AGX struts for an Impreza wagon.
Lowering springs for the Legacy (Whitelines, Eibachs whatever)
Install and get an alignment.
The Impreza struts have a bottom spring mount that is ~1/2" higher up than the Legacy. This reduces the drop due to the spring by ~1/2". Also the Impreza strut list is longer than the Legacy list.
If you get Whitelines (like Nubaru) you have a choice of "control" or "lowering". There is a difference in spring rate and drop.
Do a search in this forum. About 1.5 weeks ago I brought up the same things and got back lots of ideas and I added links to a couple sites.
I will be going this route in the spring. I don't want too much drop since I have snow to deal with.
I also don't want adjustable spring perches due to Auto-X restrictions.

Well just so I am clear, what are coil overs. They look just like if I was to go get a AGX shock and Springs. Also if I am more interested in performance than looks, I would get something like TEIN CS Coilovers? For fun, can I get any of those in "FLEX" so if I want to adjust them from inside the car I can? Think that FLEX part is more a toy than anything.

OOPS, my bad. I did not notice his MY.
Froggert is correct, when SOA changed to the multi link rear, some of the options went out the window.
Sorry for that.
