Hey guys i am considering sleeves for my car If anyone needs a motor RIGHT NOW let me know. As some may know i have slowly (of course) been building it. The shortblock is DONE and all it needs is a home. I still may end up using it.
I am just trying to avoid the cost of assembly and machining work TWICE It was fully assembled and machined by Moore Performance. It started life with all brand new parts. Case, bearings, rods, pistons, crank, etc. email me if you are interested. [email protected] Details: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2416379

Ok, maybe she was uking from preggers, still pretty impressive if she was playing the traveling skin flute with a bun in the oven. Last edited by DapRex; 10-11-2012 at 01:28 PM. |

Anybody have any 16" stock wrx/subaru wheels for sale, preferrably with beat or no tires? Looking for a winter setup and really don't want to use steelies, and already bought my 16" snow tires.

yeah right, thats like ~90 bucks in carbon and consumables, and ~2hrs labor per half in that, another 2hrs of bonding and trimming and that's after the buck was made. easily 30hrs and $100 in the buck over the past whatever it's taken. another couple hours of clearcoat/wetsand/clearcoat yet to be done. working at mcdonalds wages...that's still expensive!
i don't charge mcdonalds wages. i like to keep it more inline with plumbers at least. this is just a personal project so no real $ value or cost/benefit analysis was done. goddammit i want it! |

no but it's got a real low mass and a lowish thermal transmission.. i'd do that gold tape or any of the foil/airgap jams available where you need it. the resins i have readily available are only good up to 300~310F and then they soften up. over ~23psi(at the turbo) your compressor eff can get so bad your compressor outlet temps can go well over 300F on a hot day(Dan knows this! HAHAHAAHA).
i mean, i can get high temp resins, but they're non-cosmetic and are not clear. high temp prepregs are an option but your tool has to handle at least oven temps in the early cure stages, so all cheap tooling methods are out. just use them NASA jawns. That was my next question. Would like a header wrap keep it insulated enough then? I was thinking i would try some ducting to get fresh air to the turbo when the time comes. It will probably be simmilar setup as ryans bugeye for turbo placement.

get over your autohatred. is it the torque converter that you don't like? or that it's shifted for you? i have well backed arguments for both.
that's one of the weakest AMGs ever made. the W124 E500 is a better car. besides, i'm not into W124s. either W201, W204, or W126 if you're into large. if i was going for a 124, it'd be a diesel, and there's loads of better diesel benzos. the W211 E55amg confuses the crap outta me. i want it, but it's so much wreched excess.. but it's just a bit more money and bit more excess than the other C class AMGs that.. it's almost justifiable. but i'm all about effeciency, and.. i dunno. so confused. still think i'd go C32AMG and add headers, cams, a diff, better intercooler with more boost and get pure tuning to tune the bitch. a w201 5cyl turbo diesel manual trans with a bigass turbo would do it too... OR takea W201 and gut the crap out of it and basically build everything that isn't a passenger compartment from scratch... |
