Wheel gap difference from side to side...
I have a 2002 WRX with prodrive blue springs, tokico d-spec shocks, whiteline sway bars and Group N top hats.
The passenger front tire has about 1/4" higher gap or a little bit less (distance from the fender to the top of the tire) than the driver side front. The rear passenger tire is has a little higher wheel gap than the rear driver tire also but it is not 1/4"... Anyone seen this before? I have checked suspension components and everything seems to be on par under the car. Note that the car is sitting in a garage when I observed this. My garage is level. I also notice this when the car is parked in other various places... Any insight on what to look for that could cause this would be helpful. Anyone experienced this? Thanks, Clay

Have a detailed visual by any chance? Might be more helpful to see how much of a difference in height it is from side to side

Ok just for fun - what could cause this?
I've got a full 1/2 inch difference in back of my wagon. fronts are equal, passenger back wheel is about where I would expect for the springs I'm on, and the driver's side is 1/2 lower. Would an adjustable rear swaybar alter the car enough to account for it? I've got a whiteline wagon bar 22 (if I recall correctly) set on full stiff. Any chance that would pull the knuckle enough to alter the height? |

if you actually corner balance the car....it wont be even it is irrelevant...these cars...the gd's...have been that way since day one...if you see one that is actually EVEN it is almost certainly that some OCD idiot actually adjusted their coilovers to make it that way....and ****ed up the handling in the process it is normal and wont hurt anything unless and until you go ****ing with it |

Uncle scotty is right, Just take 2 seconds to think about it. The weight distribution of this car is not perfectly 50:50 front to back nor is it 50:50 side to side. IF it was then each of the four corners would be at the same height.....BUT ITS NOT. the weight is not distributed evenly, and as such the suspension is slightly different height at each corner. the engineers, who get paid lots of money at subaru have spent tons of money and hours to do this ON PURPOSE!
dont **** up what they have spent way more moeny and time on than you or i ever will. just go with it, its ok. change it if you want, but if you do your a dumbass, youve been warned. Discalimer, you COULD be a high level racing team with scales and corner balancing, but if you were, then you wouldnt be asking this question /thread |
