Default '03 WRX MT to AT

Does anyone know what is involved to go from a USDM 5spd MT to the 4EAT on an 03 WRX? I have looked at some other threads going the other direction AT to MT and it looks as though the rear axle may have to change. Any insight would be aprreciated.

My new commute is very stop and go and the MT is getting to me, otherwise the manual tranny is probably more fun. Thanks.

Sell the car and get one that came from the factory with an AT. You are going to need to rewire the whole car as there are extensive amounts of wires that need to be present to run an AT which your car does not currently have.

Why, if I may ask, do you want an Auto?

You need an auto ecu too. I bet you can find someone with an auto WRX who regrets his decision and do a trade...
