Default "gapless" gd to gc dash swap (as part of ej207 swap)?

So I need to sort out a plan of attack. The plan is to swap in a full 02 Wrx dash setup. I've got everything from inside the Wrx that was attached to the firewall. I didn't take any door wiring so my gd dash harness will need to mate to the gc chassis. (I'm looking for details on how to configure the gd bulk harness to plug into the gc junction blocks: can I unpin Wrx wires and insert into the Rs connectors for plug and play?)

In terms of the physical fitment: the Wrx dash beam can obviously be installed several ways: cutting Rs ends and welding to the Wrx beam, redrill wrx ends to fit Rs chassis. The center support bars I see people cutting and/or drilling cuz they are "too long". But can the Wrx bar be mounted higher up in the chassis so the center supports mate up? And if this were done, would the gd dash sit on the support beam higher up and closer to the windshield thereby eliminating the typical gap?

If the Wrx beam is mounted higher up and closer to the windshield, would this also close up the typical gap seen at the door jamb when the door is opened?

With the Wrx bulk wiring behind the dash, I jus want to make clear in my own head, that the engine harness will plug right into it and the only special attention will have to be paid down in the kick panel areas? I do wanna keep the Rs abs and srs.
