Default '00 OBS engine swap

Would it be possible to put the 2.5 Baja engine in a '00 OBS? Would it even be reasonable to do so?

Probably, the biggest issue is whether they are sohc or dohc. Both engines should be the same. I've done a couple of random swaps by swapping the intake manifold onto the new engine, that way all of the original electronics stay with the car. Then you just have to worry about what exhaust you're using. The engine mounts and bell housings will match.

Edit - Forgot to also say to check the timing gear patterns. I've put an ej22 into a 2001 Forester using this method: swapping the drivers side cam gear and crank timing gear, along with the intake manifolds onto the new engine. Can't say this will work in every instance though.
